Get Ready for the 1000 Horsepowered LaFerrari XX Hybrid Supercar

Hybrid and electric vehicles are on the rise as technology advances and oil prices go up. While most fully electric cars and hybrid cars are generally more expensive than their fossil fuel counterparts, this is extremely true for the LaFerrari. It seems that the hybrid and electric movement have bled into supercars, as they should. Electric and hybrid engines provide a vehicle with instant power-on-demand allowing them to accelerate faster. Even some top Formula 1 cars that are winning most of the races right now are hybrids.

The LaFerrari is a limited run hybrid supercar that Ferrari introduced in 2013 and still makes to this day. While they still produces these vehicles there will only be 499 of them, and they cost around $1.7 million dollars. The LaFerrari was developed to replace the Enzo and the vehicle features a 6.3 litre V12 engine that produces 788 brake horse power and an electric engine that produces 160 brake horse power. Those two engine combined give the car 948 horses and 663 lb-ft of torque. These two engines allow the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than 3 seconds, and from 0-124 mph in under 7 seconds.

Well if that is not fast enough for you, a modified version of the LaFerrari was spotted at the Adria Raceway in Italy. Named the “LaFerrari XX”, this version of the car, while not much is officially known, is a more supped up version of the normal LaFerrari supercar. This version features slightly different aerodynamics and the car was stripped of all unnecessary weight. Additionally a roll-bar and a new steering wheel were outfitted in this model. Rumors are that this version has around 1,050 horses underneath its hood. This large spec upgrade will most definitely translate into much higher acceleration and top speed, and all around better performance. Ferrari is supposed to unveil this vehicle at the 2014 Finali Mondial event in Abu Dhabi early this December. These vehicles were created to directly compete with the McLaren P1 GTR, which is another amazing hybrid-supercar that nearly has 1,000 horses as well.
