The Audi R8 V10 Competition is its Most Powerful Model Ever

Audi first introduced its mid-engine, 2-seater R8 supercar back in 2006 and it was an instant hit. Originally they were equipped with V8 engines, however now Audi throws in a larger V10. There have been many renditions and different versions of this supercar, though it still remains very popular. The base model starts at $124,000 so in terms of supercars, it has an attractive price tag. Audi has recently unveiled its new R8, and it is easily the coolest one that have made to date. This is for one single reason, and its Jeremy Clarkson’s favorite word: Power.

The all new Audi R8 V10 “Competition” has just made an impact in the world of supercars. This limited edition R8 will be the most powerful vehicle in any class that the German company has made. This R8 has a modified and improved version of Audi’s 5.2 litre V10 engine that provides the car with around 570 horse power. This big spec-update is immediately noticed as the Audi has incredibly quick speeds. It has a top speed of 199 miles per hour and is able to accelerate from 0-60 miles per hour in just 3.2 seconds.

However that is not all that Audi has done with this vehicle. They have improved upon many things and problems that were found in older versions of the R8, namely the bumpy low-RPM shift action in addition to a variety of other minor issues. Additionally, Audi went through great lengths to ensure that this vehicle is extremely lightweight. They did this by taking out all unnecessary deadweight and certain body parts are made from carbon fiber. Additionally they have improved the aerodynamic of the vehicle with the various vents found throughout the car. They also put on ceramic disk brakes to ensure that you will be able to stop quickly at high speeds, or slow down enough to round corners. Additionally Audi allows potential buyers to customize the vehicle how they see fit, making each one potentially one of a kind.

Audi is only producing this model in a limited quantity, and they will only be shipping 60 cars to the United States for sale. They should be out in early 2015.
