The 25 Richest Country Music Singers

country

Toby Keith

He the question, “How do you like me now?” and the world answered back with a, “just fine!” according to Toby Keith’s estimated net worth of approximately $500 million. While much of his earnings come from his singing and touring, he does own a restaurant and stake in the record label that signed a few other well-known musicians such as Taylor Swift and Tim McGraw.

Tiffany Raiford is a lifelong Floridian, wife to my high school sweetheart and mother of four littles (two girls and boy/girl twins...no, they are not identical and yes, I'm sure). My kids love to whine, so I love to wine. My loves include nap time, bed time, date night, travel and evenings and weekends when my husband is home because he handles all diaper changes.

  1. Dolly Parton’s updated estimated net worth, as of 2009, was $950 million. I am sure she is at the billion mark by now.

    (0)
    • I also thought that number seemed odd. Toby Keith worth more than Dolly? She’s written monster hit songs that she collects royalties on when OTHERS sing them, she’s acted in movies, she owns a theme park, she performs…I believe she is worth more than the article states.

    • Obviously the blond hair, real or otherwise, has a very smart head
sitting below. Truly one of the gems in the industry & a swell gal overall.

      (0)
    • She has made some good investments with her money. I would imagine she is worth more than we will ever know. Reba and Dolly seem to me to be very in charge of what they choose to do. Smart ladies..

  2. Let’s see a report on which country stars spend the most on publicity. I’ll give odds Carrie Underwood is in the top five.

    (0)
  3. No way is this list anywhere near correct…..Garth Brooks and Alan Jackson are singer-songwriters. Their net worth is way about that of Taylor Swift, I guarantee it; and Vince Gill at a paltry $18 million? I had to laugh. Someone was assigned this story, and didn’t do her homework.

  4. Alan Jackson! Always a class act!

Faith Hill has no appeal to me at all! Over-rated in both the talent and looks department. Tim McGraw’s music was so much better before they hooked up.

  5. This article is pure fiction. Vince Gill at 16 mill? Are you kidding me? The guy is likely is excess of $100 mill. And no Buck Owens or Dwight Yoakum. Thanks for wasting my time – not

  6. Truth be told, Country singers don’t make a lot of money these days.
Now if you want to talk about POP singers! 😉

    (0)
  7. @DiamondMiles that’s harsh to say about Faith at least she doesn’t rely on Auto tune like Rihanna. and some of her and Tim’s duets are some of the most beloved in recent country music history It’s Your Love Just To Hear You Say That You Love Me Angry All The Time etcetra

  8. Who wrote this list of made up financial information? Are they clueless. Brooks is the richest by far, selling the most and his concerts are sold out months in advance. Also, money like this is fluid, changing daily on investments returns and real estate flux. Today, Swift may have 150 mil in the bank, a bad investment day it can drop 10-15% or grow as much. NO ONE KNOWS what these people have and I bet Dolly is equal too or close to Garth anyway. George Strait is probably in the top three as he has just as many hits, but the investments is where they make a ton. No one knows what they invest it and the trust funds set up as well. Toby Keith, number one. Maybe because of his investment in the label.

  9. Dolly has to be the most wealthy country star (right there with Garth), and I bet she donates a lot and a mass amount of what she has will be donated when she heads up/over/into Heaven!

      • The eye of a needle? Taking statements Jesus said OUT OF CONTEXT doesn’t help our cause!! JESUS claimed it would be easier for a piece of rope to go thru the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter the kingdom of God: ” He was asked, (They were MANY MANY rich men) asked, “WHO can be saved?” Jesus said, “With MAN it is impossible–with GOD ALL things are possible.” get yourself a study bible and don’t rely upon radio evangelists so much. Love you my sister.

        (0)
      • to the Captaindandan. Are you referring to Mark 10, whereas Jesus said, it would be easier for a camel to get through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter heaven. I haven’t found anything about a rope.

      • Many won’t make it even though they are seemingly good Christian. I hope and Pray this didn’t go for our LATE very wealthy Pastor and his Very Wealthy Wife who I hear has even grown even worse and more Greedy after her Pastor Husband’s Death. They Built and Own a Assemblies of God INC Buildings and Lands paid for by the Blind and Ignorant Following of him and her Sheep. ,,,,,,
My question has always been, “Though you are a Big Giver to things where you can take those Monies, etc. off your Income Taxes, and you also have Millions of Dollars in Banks. Yet while your knowing someone in the Congregation you attend or a neighbor who has nothing is in bad need. Maybe it is their Car that is broken down and they have no Means to get it repaired, or may be one who loose a Spouse or Child and they cannot afford to even have them Buried. Yet all you do is say your sorry”. ,,,,,,,,,
Yet in reality, most each and everyone of us are likened to the Rich Men and Women out there. We sit at a costly meal while so many go without and we even see Children eating Mud and Mud Cookies, etc. We spend Big Bucks for a cup of Coffee or a Coke, when that money just from a Fancy Cup of Coffee would buy Two to Four at a Homeless Shelter and many Meals for someone in a 3rd. World Country. Even the price of that Coke or Candy Bar now days, would buy or almost buy a Meal for someone in a Shelter here or a few Meals for someone in a 3rd World Country. What about the Money we have in Savings, Stocks and Bonds, or in our Checking Account or the Money in our pocket when we pass someone asking for Money, or that money we have in our “Rainy Day Cookie Jar-?” ,,,,,,,,,,
So if we have a Dollar and yet know and/or seek-out someone who doesn’t have a Dollar and has a Real Need. If we do not give them our last Dollar or Penny, are not we just as Guilty for our Little Extra the same as the Rich Man or Woman who has a lot of extra-? Is not Extra Extra, no matter WHAT it is-? I Believe it is the same. Because OUR Real Faith come when we are without and in Need. We Believe by OUR measure of Faith God WILL Provide for us no matter what our Need is, Praise God.

        (0)
          • You have no idea who I am or what I am, so why don’t you practice what your trying to Preach and stop your Judging-? ,,,,,

Also Mary, the Wise learned long ago it this those who are always telling someone else they are Judging or they are not to Judge, are always the Guilty One(s) to start with, and they sure do not Understand what the Word of God Calls Judging. Why don’t you give reading the Bible a try, maybe start with EZEK. 3:17-21, etc. ,,,,,

    • “You cannot serve God and money.” If you make your living promoting the world’s evil ways, how do you expect to enter God’s kingdom? Most of them have received their reward, but will have to answer to their maker for using their talents for Satan’s kingdom.

      (0)
      • You know…assuming they serve money is like taking on the mantle of God. You don’t know how many of them are Christians or what they do with their money. Lots don’t want the attention donating brings. Easy does it on ‘reward’. God’s ways are not our ways, nor His thoughts our thoughts.

        (0)
        • Regardless of what they do with their money, they make it serving the world and the devil. No amount of donations can make up for their misuse of talent for money and fame.

Many people do the same thing on a less obvious scale. But to use the truth that “God’s ways are not our ways…” in no way can obscure the truth that he explains so clearly in his word: Greed and covetousness, loving the praise of men, and loving the world and its evil ways and promoting them is a clear sign of a bad tree with bad fruit. Most of these singers follow this path, with the exception perhaps of Johnny Cash in his later years,

What is worse is that we see this behavior among so called Christian pastors and leaders and singers who cover their love for money and the praise of men in the garb of a “shepherd’s cloak” or “sheep’s clothing.”

          (0)
      • “How difficult it is for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven…” Jesus told the rich young ruler to go sell all he had and give to the poor and then he would have treasure in heaven…then come take up the cross and follow Jesus. How many country stars have you seen or any rich person, that has given up their wealth to follow Jesus and take up their cross, preaching the gospel to others? How many people in general have done that? And why would they when their pastors live for money and power and the praise of men in their congregations?

      • Amen Doug, been in the Music Business end of things, or was just getting started and got the Break so many dream of getting but never do. When I came to accept Jesus into my Life as my Lord and Savior, and Number 1 in my Life. I gave-up both the Writing, Singing, and Music Business end of things. Those a number of People including some Entertainers and Opry Members who were big Stars in their days told me I could both Serve the Lord and Entertain as they did. I said NO, I can’t do both because I’m to weak. I was to end to the Ladies, Pills, and Partying at that time, and I was going to make sure those Temptations wasn’t somehow at maybe sometime drag me down and cause me to Backslide. it was a easy choice for me to chose between all the Fame and Money I was promised would quickly come, and my choosing Jesus to be my Fame and Provider of all my Daily Needs, amen.

    • Fairly new Johnny Cash museum in Nashville has been selected by
couple of outside Museum organizations as one to the top
music museums in the nation. Can’t wait to see it.

      • KENNY ROGERS A***** STAR PRODUCTION

I’m going to say, with respect and a short stint of bad luck.. And to date he’s still a country classic much like the others before him.

It’s hard to keep a good man down. And from what i understand, he has paid his dues in many ways.Kenny Rogers will continue to shine. He knows when to hold em and walk away.

        (0)
    • Although your comment was months ago, may my response attached to it go down in the logs of history to never be forgotten. Here it goes:

Taylor Swift sucks. What that noise she has to do in every song “mmmmmm” or however you would spell it. Almost as bad as Katy Perry going “Oooh aaa oah oah oah” in every song.

  10. Ms. Twain has probably fewest number of albums, but two have been the

biggest selling in Country music history. She lives in Europe and doesn’t
participate in the industry for the last several yrs. Too bad, she hates touring.

    (0)
    • She got millions from her divorce- richest music producer in the world wrote and produced her biggest hits and albums. She is rumored to be a studio voice and why you’ve hardly seen her sing live, sounds good recorded and mixed, but live is a struggle. The few life award show performances, Madison Sq Garden and Super Bowl is still a mystery if it was live or ‘memorex’. She did the reality show on Oprahs network after her divorce a few yrs back, prior to Vegas and she said she lost her voice and couldn’t sing due to the divorce stress, yet attempted the Vegas gig anyway and the reviews online, weren’t favorable. Her songs were fun, if she could just get it together again. I mean look at what Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn and Tammy Wynette went thru. None of them lost their voices and that was in a day prior to expensive microphones and technology where voices could be re-mixed.

      (0)
    • she kinda gave up on the singing when she went to Europe …. but after her divorce she tried to get back into the scene but she was afraid she lost her voice …. I think with all that money … she lost the fire in her gut ….

  11. Shania’s worth seems grossly overrated. Yes, she’s had some
best-selling albums, but everyone in the industry knows that albums
aren’t the key to wealth building. Touring is one of the main
contributors and Shania hasn’t had a major tour in forever. Is her
worth from her divorce settlement from Mutt?

  12. Can’t stand the “top whatever” list that requires clicking to a new page for each result. Bummer…seemed like an interesting article.

    (0)
    • Probably because she professes Christianity. and has recently become controversial. with her something in the water song. But good for her! Now if she had went the road of Taylor Swift. She would probably rise up very fast. However Carrie won’t do that, she has way too much class!

      (0)
  13. I went to school with Kenny Rogers daughter who is around 56 now. He has not contacted her, seen his grandson or acknowledges her existence. Though I don’t like her politics, extreme liberal, she has a good heart, is loving, caring, bright, beautiful and someone any father would be proud of. She has always wanted to meet her half/siblings and has been denied that opportunity. Though I still love his music, Kenny is less than a man to me and should reconcile to find inner peace.

    (0)
    • Why would YOU assume it’s Kenny’s fault? My daughter AND my son don’t want anything to do with me simply because their mother said quote, “Your father is an axehole”. So there ya go; they went off and got married–I didn’t even get invited to the wedding–talk about poisoning the well. !! My ex did a great job.

      (0)
  14. I can’t believe that Faith Hill is worth more than Tim McGraw. When was the lat time she put out an album? Tim is always has new music coming out and is on tour.

    (0)
  15. Kenny was a pretty decent looking guy, until he went and had his looks converted to that of a Macau monkey. All that money and ugly.

    (0)
  16. I do NOT believe that someone is trying to say that Willie Nelson is not worth at least 7 mil…. I know he had some IRS problems, but that was a LONG time ago and his shows sell out FAST!

    (0)
  17. Dolly use to be one of my favorite singers … since if heard her profess her undying love for obama , I will never listen to another note that comes that mouth of hers. Same goes for Garth Brooks….

    (0)
    • My cousin has worked with Dolly for 25 years and says she is the most genuine and nicest person he has ever met. She gives a lot to the needy and her foundation has donated more books to kids than anyone in history by far. She has promoted her area where she’s from in Tennessee and provided so many people with jobs and helped tremendously with illiteracy and education for so many people. You have no idea how far her work has gone. She is one special lady.

  18. This effing article is 1 year old!!
Can never tell how much news RECYCLING yahoo does.

If you aren’t careful, you might be reading a very old story thinking it’s new

  19. The scary part of this whole article is the fact that some of these are considered country stars. The country music today is beyond awful. There are only 4 or 5 true country singers on this list so the rest do not count. George Jones and George Strait of course, Johnny Cash, obviously, Dolly Pardon and Kenny Rogers in a stretch. The rest are a bunch of talent less hacks who were packaged up and sold to audiences who wouldn’t know country if it slapped them in the face. Alan Jackson started out making quality music, but his started to change away from that original sound he had.

    (0)
  20. Wow, I assumed many on this list would be over, let say, 50 mil. Lot’s of them are under 30 million. Country keepin’ it real.

    (0)
  21. How come Waylon Jennings & Willie Nelson are not on that list?? Waylon was one of the greatest country singers that ever lived; plus he opened up the gates for the other country singers. What about Tennessee Ernie Ford??

    (0)
  22. Reba also is a actress. So i would imagine that she is worth a lot more than what they have listed. I would say she is probably at the very top with everything. I would imagine she is very smart when it comes to finances.

    (0)
  23. Just remember how rich they are, the next time you order tickets to a local concert. Jimmy Buffett is worth a bil and a half, with concert prices running in the low hundreds to low thousands. I love his music, but I’ve other things I want too.

    (0)
  24. Yep, pretty cool when the rappers are jumping on the bandwagon;) and who better to do it with than bro boys FGL.

    (0)
  25. Nice list, but who is the creative writer who pens this grade school level pablum? Tanya Tucker anyone? And how many remember the Kenny Rodgers of the First Edition (“I Wonder What Condition my Condition is in”)?

    (0)
  26. Well, if you included Johnny Cash, I’m just stunned you left out Eddie Arnold. Eddie Arnold and his estate owns half of Nashville.

    (0)
  27. Poor old Kenny Rogers, doesn’t even look like he can even “know when to hold them” anymore. Dang good singer though.

    (0)
  28. No diss to Carrie Underwood at all but there is no way she is worth more that Kenny Chesney. He has had many hits, sold a ton of records, and he tours a lot and has huge concert venues and sell them out. I think he is worth over $100. million.

    (0)
  29. Its Waylon, and George for me.
None of these new ones don’t really sing country.
But Rock & Roll did the same thing.
There is no more Rock & Roll for a few decades now.
It was the Day That Music Died.

    (0)
  30. I like the part where Kenny Rogers go to his Plastic Surgeon and ask him, can you make me look like a Macau Monkey? Why certainly Sir, have a seat!

    (0)
  31. I think Kenny Rogers still has the first dollar he made! I met him in Henderson Nevada in 1994. He was his own Construction Foreman building one of his Restaurants. He’s a good Carpenter and too cheap to hire a foreman.

    (0)
  32. charities and the historical failure of animal research, what charities will never tell you, on my FB and YT (sorry about going off topic!).

    (0)
  33. Glen Campbell has a huge publishing empire and owned the rights to Alan Jacksons cannon of songwriting. Country pop queen, Bobbie Gentry, wrote two of Rolling Stones top 100 country songs of all time( Ode to Billie Joe and Fancy). and was purchasing minority ownership rights in an N.B.A basketball team in the late 60’s. She signed the first multi million dollar Vegas deal(for a female) in the 1970’s and even though she has been reclusive for decades, is worth more than many on this list.

    (0)
  34. If Garth Brooks is the second best selling music artist to Elvis, then why is he only worth 150 million?

    (0)
  35. Are you kiddin me. She behing Toby the Bush War drum roll LugNut? Dolly owns 100s of millions from her Dollywood empire only! I know because I am visiting knoxville as am writing -:)

    (0)
  36. Many commenting on here are confusing net worth with record sales… the two are totally separate things. Dolly is worth a lot, but sorry folks did you see where Toby has his earnings, plus he owns a piece of Taylor a piece of Tim McGraw and many others so if he owns a piece of at least two others on this list isn’t it logical to assume he would be worth more?? STILL all in all, we are all quibbling over minutiae, considering the last person on this list is worth more than most of us commenters could ever dream of.. In other words, they are all very affluent and shouldn’t have any fiscal worries!

    (0)
  37. I used to be a country fan. I listened to it back in the 90s back in Garth Brooks hey day and back when George Straight was still good. Joe Diffe, Mark Chestnut, Doug Stone, these were the folks I listened to. Now, everyone is trying to be a bad boy rockstar and all the songs sound the same and usually involve stories of men who can’t contain their, shall we say, excitement, over trashy women. There is usually a truck involved in someway, riding down the road, dancing on the tailgate, etc. And there is usually either beer or whiskey in the mix somewhere. Country music songs used to be well written. They weren’t all shallow and no two sounded just alike. Now, it’s almost as if they have a template for writing a top ten country hit. I’ve switched to classic rock and blues rock. Country is a disaster. Even many on this list are part of the problem with country music. Luke Bryan? Jason Aldean? The fact that they have made a fortune destroying country music is a testament to that.

    (0)
  38. My favorite singer is George Strait! He’s a fine, handsome Cowboy! Praise God! His music can make me laugh, cry or just be happy! God bless George Strait and all his family and friends” Praise be to Almighty God!

    (0)
  39. I got hooked on country in the late 90’s. I like the fact that they sing about positive things and not drugs and “cappin'” somebody’s “a$$”. And that you can understand just what they are singing about is a big plus. God, country, America, beer, pretty girls, love, moving on. A good things about life set to great music.
