Hublot Unveils The Ferrari Inspired “MP-05 LaFerrari” Timepiece Made From Sapphire

Hublot first unveiled their incredible MP-05 LaFerrari timepiece back in 2013, and have since made a few different versions of this Ferrari branded timepiece. We’ve seen an all-black model, one made from gold, and even one made from titanium. Now the iconic watch brand has unveiled the newest iteration, and it’s made from sapphire.

Inspired by the critically acclaimed hypercar from Ferrari, the MP-05 LaFerrari timepiece is as impressive as the car. The watch feature a unique skeleton dial, a suspended vertical tourbillon, the HUB9005 movement, and a ground breaking 50-day power reserve. However the most impressive feature is obviously the sapphire case which is constructed from seven individual parts of sapphire.

According to reports, it takes Hublot some 600 hours of work to create just one of these watches as the sapphire is not only difficult to work with, but the watch has some 637 different parts in total. The MP-05 has another unique feature: to wind the watch the user needs to use a small power tool that looks like the drills that are used on Formula One racing cars. It seems a bit strange, but it’s 50-day power reserve will keep it running for awhile.

Hublot will only be producing just 20 examples of this beautiful timepiece in total, making it one of the rarer Hunlot’s out there. Additionally the watch will be priced at around $300,000 dollars, so essentially the people that can realistically afford one probably drive a Ferrari as well.
