By now, most of us are familiar with the Apple Watch and it has been one of the most desirable and talked about wearables as of late. In addition to the normal watches, Apple also released a few versions made from real gold. These versions start at $10,000 dollars, and many people are asking “who would buy that”. In China, pre-orders for the $20,000 dollar gold version sold out in less than one hour, so it seems that there is a market for them. Still as impressive as they are, the most attractive one (in my opinion) was recently given to Karl Lagerfeld from Apple. However this was a custom one-off, so you unfortunately cannot purchase it.
Karl Lagerfeld is the chief creative director over at Chanel, so he certainly knows a thing or two about style. Well Apple decided to create a special and unique gold Apple Watch for him. In addition to being the rarest Apple Watch that’s out there, it is also estimated that this is the most expensive one with a price of over $25,000 dollars. That’s a pretty big jump considering the base Apple Watch starts at $350 dollars. The main difference in this custom version is the band. While the body of the watch is the same as the other gold models, this is the only model to feature an all-gold link bracelet. The band is styled the same way as the steel one that you can get, but obviously this one is just a bit nicer.
Still as appealing as the Apple Watch is, many people feel that it is over-priced. The base model is $100 dollars more than most of the competitors on the market, and they get even more expensive. If you want the 42mm stainless steel model with the stainless steel band, then you’re going to have to spend $1,000 dollars. Despite the price, I am sure that the Apple Watch will be very successful like all the products that Apple launches.
