How much are you willing to pay for a nice watch? Well Montblanc feels that you should expect to spend a “few” thousand dollars on some of their watches. High end watch companies like Montblanc, also known for their expensive pens and writing utensils, pack in some of the highest quality materials in their watches. Take that fact, and then strap on a designer name, and well you’ve got a pretty expensive watch on your hands (pun not intended).

Founded in 1906 in Germany, this luxury manufacturer of writing instruments, watches, and jewelry has been producing some high-quality and expensive goods for more than a century. If you are looking for a watch to impress your friends, that is not only expensive, but also stylish then check out Montblanc’s “Vintage Pulsographe”.

With a price tag of $49,900 this watch is not exactly affordable for most people. The Vintage Pulsographe is part of the “Collection Villeret 1858” which is a series of watches designed to be inspired from older times, saying that Montblanc is paying “tribute to the wealth of ideas of the past, when chronographs were supposed to measure more than ‘just’ time”.

This watch pays its respects to various watches that doctors used as it has a “pulse scale” which made it easy for doctors to correctly calculate someones pulse. This scale was then popularized and lead to the creation of “doctors watches”. You will also probably have to be a doctor to afford this watch. According to Montblanc this particular watch was inspired by the Minerva Pulsometer chronograph that was released in 1928. The watch is made from 18 karat white gold and features a leather band. The movement of the watch is a annually wound monopusher chronograph. If you are contemplating purchasing this watch then you have to contact Montblanc either directly or at a participating retailer due to the extremely high-cost of the watch.
