Ticket prices for a trip on an airplane get more and more expensive each year. Many people criticize the airline industry for this, and fewer people are flying as the costs to run airplanes are getting more and more expensive. Jumbo jets aren’t exactly fuel efficient vehicles, and those fuel prices play into the rising ticket prices. Most people try to find the best deals on tickets that they can get, however for some cost is no an issue. First class tickets are always much more expensive that regular tickets, and the gap between coach and first class is growing even larger. The benefits of flying first class are pretty great, and if price is not in issue, taking advantage of first class options is a must. So what if you are someone that seeks out the most luxurious and extravagant plane ticket? Despite rising ticket prices and costs, many prominent airlines are introducing new features into their first class packages, and some of those accommodations are out of this world. We are going to take a look at some of the most expensive first class tickets that money can buy, and they are also probably the most amazing options that you can get.
Quantas Airways Limited – $14,974
Quantas Airways Limited is a premier airliner that is based out of Australia. Recently many of their business and first class flights have undergone a total makeover and offer some pretty amazing amenities and features. One of the most expensive tickets that you can purchase from this airline is the Los Angeles to Melbourne flight, which will run you over $14,974 dollars. This nonstop flight to Australia is over 15 hours long, and connecting flights can last over a day. With a trip that long, you want comfort, and Quantas delivers. The main area in the first class section looks and feels like a lounge between its comfortable couches and the interior decorations. The individual cabins are pretty nice. The seats can transform into a bed made from a sheepskin mattress. Theres plenty of room for your luggage and they will provide you with an eight-course meal as well. Its no surprise why this airline was won many awards with amenities like these.
Singapore Airlines – $18,700
Many of the worlds leading luxury airliners are from Asia, and Singapore Airlines is definitely one of the best. The city state of Singapore is known for its affluence and luxury, and all of that is realized on-board their planes, specifically their A380’s. When you fly first class here, you get the complete package. When you check into the airport, you are whisked away to their premium and exclusive lounge to wait for the flight. The airplane itself is pretty amazing. The “seat” is more of a cabin that has much to offer (pictured above). You get a double sized bed, Givenchy bedding, silk pajamas, a Ferragamo “amenity kit”, a five-course dinner, and much more. A ticket from Singapore to New York will run you upwards of $18,700 dollars.
Virgin Atlantic – $21,000
Virgin Atlantic is a well known British airline that was founded by Richard Branson, among others, so naturally its pretty great. The airline has recently introduced what they call the “Upper Class Suite” on some of their flights, and it is amazing. Picture an exclusive bar and lounge atmosphere, only on an airplane. The main area is spacious and has a full-bar complete with Swarovski crystals found all over. The “suite” that you get is nothing short of luxury and comfort as well. You can change the interior lighting to match your mood, and can stay connected with the internet and ground via their “AeroMobile” system. A flight from New York to Singapore will cost you at least $21,000 dollars.
Japan Airlines – $24,000
Japan Airlines is another prominent Asian airliner that offers great amounts of luxury and comfort. A ticket in their premier first class cabins from Los Angeles to Paris will run you around $24,000 dollars, but obviously offers a lot. Each suite is an individual compartment whose seats transform into beds. The seats are designed to keep you in a comfortable position while you sleep, even if the plane moves or hits turbulence. The amenities that you get with this suite are pretty great. They have cuisine from their own luxury restaurant, on board the plane known as Jal Bedd Sky Suberge. You can even get a massage in their air when you purchase one of the first class tickets.
Cathay Pacific – $25,000
Cathay Pacific is a premium, Hong Kong based airline that has much to offer. Should you choose to upgrade to first class here, you will receive the best money can buy. The airline has provided their first class pods with new furnishings and are really nice. You get your own private pod that is complete with a large mattress so you can sleep like you are at home. The airline will provide you with pajamas and access to some amazing food. You can get caviar for breakfast or enjoy some traditional Hong-Kong dishes all prepared on their on-board kitchen. A ticket on this airline for first class from Hong Kong to New York starts at $25,000 dollars.
Korean Air Lines – $27,000
Korean Air Lines is yet another, award-winning Asian airlines that offers amazing amenities and luxuries within their first class options. Should you choose a first class ticket here, you will receive a seat within one of their Kosmo Suites. This suites are transforming cabins that can meet any of your needs. They are very private and offer Bose headphones, a 23-inch television, and more. The suites can go from a standard first-class chair to a bed or to a functional work space if you need to do work on board. The airline offers premium champagne and food and one of the most expensive tickets they offer is the flight from New York to Beijing which starts at $27,000 dollars.
Etihad Airways – $29,000
Etihad Airways is an airline from the United Arab Emirates, so right away you know its going to be pretty amazing. They have just recently re-done some of their first-class options which they call “First Apartment”. Given that name, you can expect some pretty nice amenities. The seats are constructed and made Poltrona Frau, who also provides Ferrari and Maserati with their seats. The “apartments” have a 72-inch bed and even have a built-in massage system. A first-class flight from San Francisco to Singapore starts at $29,000 dollars
Emirates – $30,000
Finally the most expensive first class ticket is offered on Emirates, another premium airliner from the U.A.E. Their first class cabins offer so much. Like the others, it is essentially a small room with a full sized bed. The bathrooms are made from marble and you can even take a shower mid-flight, as there is an in-flight spa. The cabins have their own bars and are very private. When you aren’t in the cabin there are two different lounges to hang out in. The food is also obviously amazing and a flight from Los Angeles to Dubai will cost you at least $30,000 dollars.
