Video Shows that British Airways First Class Cabin is “Filthy” and “Disgusting”

British Airways Planes

British Airways is one of the top airline companies in the industry but is beginning to run into some problems with the claims of cleanliness on their planes. While the company has normally kept up a good reputation with its passengers, the video below was taken when somebody exposed just how gross and dirty the first class cabins are in the British Airways planes that raises a bunch of questions for the company and will certainly impact their sales going forward.

The Youtube video posted below from British TV host Owen Thomas features extremely dusty and outright gross seats and sideboards in a British Airways plane that doesn’t look like it has been cleaned in a long time. There are stains on the carpets, unwashed siding, and a disgusting amount of dust and dirt piled up under the seats. The video gathered over 871,600 views with only more eyes catching on to experience the first hand reality present on these British Airways planes.

Thomas took the video about ten days ago when flying to St. Lucia from London and had to record his disturbing findings. People pay an expensive amount of money to fly in first class and while the top priority is comfort, that does not mean customers expect to be seated in uncleaned seats. British Airways responded with a statement saying, “We have contacted out customer to apologize. We are very sorry that on this occasion we have fallen short of our usual high standards. We pride ourselves on delivering a relaxing and pleasant experience in first, and are taking immediate action to address this issue.”

The response from the company is pretty generic but they had to respond in someway knowing that more and more people are going to see the video. The truth is out in the public now and British Airways will have to find a process that ensures their planes are being properly cleaned and this doesn’t happen again, but for now, their public image is certainly going to take a hard hit from this.
