For the more adventurous travelers out there, Latin America is home to many great and amazing destinations that are truly unique and sublime. Travelers are familiar with destinations like Machu Picchu, the Yucatan, and the other locations that people come and visit. However many people forget that there are amazing islands to come and visit in Latin America. We are going to take a look at four islands that you have to visit that are in Latin America.

Uros Floating Islands – Peru

Part of Peru, Uros is a small chain of islands that are truly treasures. The Uros Floating Islands are really unique and amazing as they are actually manmade islands constructed by Uro people on Lake Titicaca. Constructed from reeds, there are over 40 islands in total and people actually live out on them year round.

Bastimentos – Panama

Part of the island chain known as Boccas del Toro, Bastimentos is exceptionally beautiful. Most of the island is dedicated to the Bastimentos Islands National Marine Park, so the forests and beaches here are left nearly untouched by man. The island is home to many unique species of animals and guests can stay in the amazing eco-lodges on the edge of the park or stay in a few luxury hotels a little further away.

Caye Caulker – Belize

Located off the coast of northern Belize and known for its amazing beaches, Caye Caulker is another island worth visiting in Latin America. The water is extremely clear and the weather is wonderful. Additionally the inhabitants of the island are known to be extremely laid back and relaxed, which makes it a great vacation spot. There are also a few protected forests and reefs here that you can explore and they certainly are very beautiful.

Isabela Island – Ecuador 

While Isabela Island is part of Ecuador, it isn’t very close to the country since it is in the Galapagos. Despite being far away from the rest of the world, Isabela Island is extremely unique and beautiful and home to many species of animals and plants that aren’t found anywhere else. The island is also a popular destination for divers as there are many amazing reefs to explore.
