Five of The Best Restaurants in Tokyo

The Best Tokyo Restaurants

Japanese food is a cuisine that is loved by so many; it’s my personal favorite. While most people associate Japanese food with sushi, there are a variety of other amazing dishes that this country has to offer. At the hear of it all is the nations capital, Tokyo. With an estimated population of nearly 14 million people, Tokyo is the most populous metropolitan area in the world. Since so many people live here, there are also many great restaurants found throughout the city. This also can make it difficult to find a place to eat, as there are just so many different locations to choose from. Here are five of the best restaurants in Tokyo

5. Kozue

Situated on the 40th floor of the Park Hyatt, Kozue not only offers some of the best views of Tokyo, but some of the best food around. The restaurant is Japanese fine-dining at its best, and its seasonal menu is ever changing. Enjoy meticulously prepared puffer fish or wagyu steaks; Kozue offers a lot. Make sure you bring your credit card, as the menu is pretty expensive.

4. Ichiran

You cannot come to Japan and not get ramen, and Ichiran makes some of the best. The restaurant specializes in Tonkotsu styled ramen and all the ingredients are fresh, including the homemade noodles. Located in the Shibuya ward of Tokyo, Ichiran’s bowls of ramen will surely please.

3. Kyubei Main Restaurant

Situated in the Chou ward of Tokyo, Kyubei Main Restaurant is a great choice for this looking for quality sushi. The restaurant is extremely popular, and was the winner of Trip Advisors “Travelers Choice 2014” award. Expect top quality food here made with the freshest ingredients.

2. Aronia de Takazawa

For those looking for extreme luxury dining, Aronia de Takazawa is a great choice. Chef Yoshiaki Takazawa serves some great Japanese-French fusion dishes, that are equally unique as they are tasty. The setting is also extremely intimate as the restaurant only sits two tables per night, with a maximum of eight patrons.

1. Sukiyabashi Jiro

You wouldn’t expect a small sushi restaurant located in the entrance of a subway make out list, however Sukiyahbashi Jiro serves arguably some of the best sushi in the city. Lead by Jiro Ono, this restaurant was the basis of the popular documentary Jiro Dreams of Sushi. This Michelin 3-Star restaurant is extremely popular, and it very difficult to get a reservation here. Many celebrities and even Barack Obama have come to dine here.
