Pininfarina Finally Delivers the Production Version of the Ferrari Sergio at Geneva

Pininfarina Ferrari Sergio

The recent Geneva Motor Show brought us some extremely cool vehicles from the worlds best automobile manufacturers. Among them, Pininfarina and Ferrari finally debuted the production, road-legal version of their highly anticipated Sergio concept that they unveiled back in 2013. The original Ferrari Sergio was quite an interesting concept car, however it had some draw backs like the lack of a windshield and mirrors. Well after making some tweaks to the original design, this version of the Sergio is ready for delivery.

Pininfarina is a independent automobile design and coach building firm based out of Italy. The company is well known to be a leading car design firm, and they have designed cars for Ferrari, Fiat, GM, Lancia, and Maserati among many others. To celebrate the companies 85th anniversary, they developed the Sergio with Ferrari and it is a cool car for sure.

The Ferrari Sergio is based on the Ferrari 458, and it is an open-cockpit, two seater supercar that features active aerodynamics, unique alloy wheels, and a roll bar that doubles as a spoiler among other features. The original Sergio was very interesting, however it did not have any mirrors or a windshield, so Ferrari/Pininfarina added those as well to make it a functional road vehicle that you can realistically drive.

Since the Sergio is based on the 458, it has a 4.5 liter V8 engine that delivers 605hp. We should expect that the car can achieve a 0-60mph time of around 3 seconds, like the Ferrari 458. Pininfarina also brought new colors and new interior materials to make set each version apart from each other.

If you’re thinking about picking one up, you unfortunately can’t. They will only be producing just six models of the Sergio in total, and all six have already been sold. Compared to other Ferraris, the Sergio is certainly much different in terms of appearance and it will be interesting to see what other future cars Ferrari and Pininfarina give us in the future.
