Instagram is easily one of the most popular social media outlets where people can share various pictures and images with their friends. With over an estimated 400 million active users, the application is certainly quite popular. Since Instagram allows you to tag locations and places, we can also gather a lot of data from Instagram. Recently Instagram took a look at various geotags, location check ins, and hashtags to find out which hotels and resorts were the most photographed this year. The end results are quite interesting, and we can imagine that these hotels and resorts are some of the most popular ones in the world. So without further ado, here are the ten most photographed hotels and resorts of 2015 according to Instagram.

Titanic Deluxe Hotel Belek

10. The Titanic Deluxe Hotel Belek – Belek, Turkey 

Located right on the Beşgöz River, surrounded by forests, and a short distance from the Mediterranean Sea is the Titanic Deluxe Hotel Belek. This all-inclusive, five-star property is consistently given high praise as an upstanding resort and hotel. It’s actually closer to Cyprus than it is to Istanbul and the surrounding terrain is quite beautiful. The resort has 600 rooms located over 170,000-square-meters of space, multiple restaurants and bars, a private beach, six pools, and everything you could ask for in a premium resort. Between the architecture and it’s location, it’s also fairly exotic as well, and the perfect place to take pictures of.

Tokyo Disney Resort

9. Tokyo Disney Resort – Tokyo, Japan 

It’s not a big surprise that if you make your resort look like a fairytale land, people are probably going to take a lot of pictures. The Tokyo Disney Resort is probably the largest Disney theme park outside of the United States, and it attracts millions of guests each year. The Tokyo Disney Resort is comprised of two theme parks: Tokyo Disneyland and Tokoy DisneySea. The DisneySea park is some 176-acres in total and the Disneyland park is 115-acres in total. Between the rides, the castle, the light shows, and the various characters walking around, Tokyo Disney Resort is an Instagram haven, and it’s no surprise that it made the list.

The Plaza Hotel in New York City also made the list of Instagram’s most photographed hotels and resorts list. Located on Fifth Avenue and Central Park South, The Plaza Hotel is on some of the most expensive real estate in New York City. This five-star hotel is easily one of the most iconic and famous hotels in New York, and it’s bound to attract allot of Instagrammers. Besides, if your hotel room overlooks Central Park, obviously you’re going to want to take a picture.

Hotel del Coronado

7. Hotel del Coronado – San Diego, California 

Spanning the vast majority of Coronado Island, a small island just outside of downtown San Diego, is the Hotel del Coronado. With it’s unique architecture, it’s private beach, the red roofs, or the great views, it’s no wonder why so many people posted Instagram pictures of this hotel and resort. The hotel actually opened its doors back in 1887, and it’s designated a National Historic Landmark. The four-star property has 757 rooms and suites, seven restaurants, a large pool area, a spa, and more. During the holidays they even set up an ice-skating rink…on the beach. Where else can you do that?

The Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort pretty much has all of the qualities that make a location a great place to take pictures of. It’s right on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, the rainbow decorated building basically invites pictures, and the views from it are incredible. This four-star property covers some 22-acres of land in total. There are 2,900 rooms and suites, a massive spa and fitness center, a shopping center, year-round entertainment, over 20 different restaurants, and much more. It’s been attracting guests for many years, and has all the makings of a great Hawaiian beach resort.

5. Atlantis Paradise Island Resort – New Providence Island, The Bahamas 

The Atlantis Paradise Island Resort in the Bahamas has been designed to essentially be the resort to end all resorts. It’s one of the largest and most popular resorts in the world, and it’s just filled with great photo opportunities. It consistently sees large amounts of guests year-round and has become THE Bahamian resort. The entire complex is so massive that it’s essentially a small city filled with restaurants, pools, private beaches, waterparks, a casino, and much more.

4. Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel – Ibiza, Spain

The Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel is located right on Playa d’en Bossa Beach in one of Spain’s most beautiful treasures. This five-star, adults-only resort is all about having a great time. There are two massive pools, 236 rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, 24-hour room service, a few bars, and more. Additionally the hotel is extremely design-focused, meaning plenty of people will take pictures of their beautiful decorated and stylish rooms. Also the rooms surround the hotel’s outside club, which almost always has entertainment playing, so guests are pretty much surrounded by the action at all times.

A second Atlantis resort makes the list, and it’s the Dubai location. Dubai is a place filled with extravagance and riches, making it an Instagram hot spot. The Atlantis, The Palm resides on one of those man-made islands which overlooks the Persian Gulf. While it’s not as large as the property in the Bahamas, it’s just as luxurious, if not even more luxurious. Between the incredible views, the beach, the architecture, or the inevitable parking lot of Ferrari’s out front, a lot of people like to take Instagram pictures here.

2. Fontainebleau Miami Beach – Miami Beach, Florida 

The second most Instagrammed hotel and resort in 2015 was the Fontainebleau Miami Beach. This 4.5-star resort is classic luxury at it’s finest, and it’s one of the most iconic beach resorts in all of Miami. It was rated the number 1 hotel in Miami Beach by Travel + Leisure, and it certainly will not fail to please. The resort originally opened its doors in 1954 and people like Elvis and Frank Sinatra have stayed here at one point. The Fontainebleau has 1,504 rooms and suites, a 40,000-sure-foot spa, beach access, an expansive pool complex, two clubs, multiple restaurants and bars, and pretty much everything you could ever want from a resort.

1. Universal Orlando Resort- Orlando, Florida

The most Instagrammed resort and hotel in 2015 was the Universal Orlando Resort. Opened in 1990, this NBCUniversal resort is one of the most popular theme parks in the entire world. This massive complex is home to a host of great attractions, all of which are perfect for taking pictures of. In 2014 some 8.3 million guests visited the park, so naturally, a lot of people post to Instagram from the Universal Orlando Resort.
