Extended vacations to tropical beach resorts have always been arguably the most popular type of vacation in the world, and for good reason. Places like the Caribbean, Hawaii, or Fiji are filled with plenty of different hotels and resorts that will take your breath away. But every now and then, we see a specific resort that just out-classes the rest. An example of such a resort would be the Constance Halaveli. This is a beach resort that makes a Ritz-Carlton hotel look like a Motel 6. This is the type of resort that will make you wonder if you have died and then gone to heaven. Seriously, this place is just that amazing. Some would even consider the Constance Halaveli to be a “six-star” resort because it is just that spectacular. Now granted, the “cheapest” room here will run you well over $1,300 dollars per night. But for just a bit, we are going to pretend that most of us could actually come here. Let’s take a look at what heaven is like.
The Constance Halaveli is located out on a small coral island in the Republic of Maldives, specifically the North Ari Atoll. From above, it looks almost impossible that anyone could possible live here, let alone be the location for an incredible resort. Calling it an “island” is definitely a stretch as it is closer to being a sandbar with some trees on it. But once you get down to the ground level, your jaw will suddenly drop. It will be an adventure to get all the way out here, given that the Republic of Maldives is one of the most remote locations on the planet, but it will be well worth the trip.
The Constance Halaveli is located both on the lagoon and the small “mainland” of this tiny island, if you can call it that. The water is so clear and turquoise, you’ll forget that it’s the ocean all together. It’s clearer than freshwater, glacier lakes. The sand is so white that it feels as if you’d almost “stain” it by just walking barefoot on it. As soon as you arrive and take in what lies in front of you, and it may take a few moments to comprehend just how incredible your surroundings are, you’ll soon realize why this resort is so expensive and why it has a perfect rating on TripAdvisor. It’s billed as a five-star resort, but it certainly feels a step above all other five-star properties.
At the central “hub” of both the island and resort, we find the heart of this property. Here you will find the building to check in, the main beach, three restaurants, the spa, a few bars, and a few villas that you can rent. The beaches are filled with lounge chairs, overhangs, bean-bag chairs, and hammocks; everything that you could want to relax. It has all the amenities you’d expect a resort like this to have, and then some. But again, the Constance Halaveli is just so freaking beautiful. The resort also offers guests a host of different activities as well. Everything from scuba diving to ocean kayaking and yoga classes, they have it all.
So right away the resort has all the amenities and activities that you’d expect it to have. So what are the accommodations like? The “basic” level of accommodations here are in the private villas situated right out on the water. In total, there are 57 and are all essentially small homes. Each water villa comes with its own private plunge pool, luxury amenities, and unparalleled views. But if you want something a little more or have a larger group, Constance Halaveli has you covered. In addition to the water villas, the resort offers 10 larger beach villas, 10 even bigger family beach villas, 8 two-story villas, and then the massive “Presidential Beach Villa” which is basically a mansion.
At first you see the water villas and say to yourself “wow this is the most amazing place, how could it get any better?”. But then, once you take a look at these larger villas located on the mainland, suddenly you begin to realize that the Constance Halaveli is truly on an entirely different level from all other resorts. When every villa, regardless of size, comes with its own private pool, something just clicks. The larger villas, again, are essentially large vacation homes fully-equipt with everything you could possibly want.
There truly aren’t that many places in the world that are like the Constance Halaveli. This is one of the few resorts on the planet that offer an experience that you really cannot replicate anywhere else in the world. From the incredible beaches to the breathtaking villas situated on the water, the Constance Halaveli is really something quite special. Yeah it costs an absurd amount of money, and I’ll most likely never vacation here in my life. But as soon as you see just a few pictures of this resort, you immediately know why it’s exclusive. It truly just doesn’t get much better this.
