Exclusive Resorts is a private destination company that was launched back over a decade ago in 2002. The luxury resort company focuses on having members join by paying a fee or subscription for a certain designated amount of traveling time periods throughout the year. The company owns all of the homes they offer and members can choose to stay at them for a set rate. Now Exclusive Resorts is rolling out a new “Gateway Travel Card” that will change the way guests use their services.

The Gateway Travel Card from Exclusive Resorts will allow their members to pre-purchase at least 21 (or more depending on the guest) vacation days for the set price at the time. This eliminates any surprise fees or altered prices at an increased amount. The big plus side to this pre-paid vacation card is that the days are good for a three year period at any of their properties (which is 300 two to five bedrooms across 75 different global locations).  This will allow people to book the trips they want for a great price but giving some wiggle room to select the specific vacation date at a later point.

The card will also privilege owner’s with travel planning services, as well as immediate on sight concierge and housekeeping services at any of the resorts. The card will also offer premium upgrades that intertwine with large popular events such as The Masters Golf Tournament of the Milan Fashion Week. It will allow people to upgrade and receive VIP access to these events while also molding a vacation around the location and event.

The Gateway Travel Card is a very interesting idea that seems worth it for those who can put up the money. While users will be prepaying a decent amount more up front, it at least secures them into a vacation for a set price altogether. With the additional perks and upgrade options, it will allow for Exclusive Resorts to really offer unique types of vacations around the world.
