Young chefs around the world have an opportunity to show off their talent and skills in a recent competition that is being launched by San Pellegrino. San Pellegrino is a sparking water manufacturer, whose products are found at pretty much all high-end restaurants around the world. So while they are technically not expert chefs, their qualifications to run this competition are pretty solid given how well known their brand is.
San Pellegrino is calling it the “S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2015” and it will be a global competition and talent search in an effort to find the best young chef. To enter this competition you must be a chef under the age of 30, and have at least one years experience as either a sous chef, a pastry chef, or a regular chef. The company hopes that many chefs will enter, and it seems like their hopes are coming true. So far over 700 chefs from around the world have already entered to participate in the competition, and more applications are coming in as we reach the deadline.
Over the next month San Pellegrino will wade through the applications, and only ten chefs from each region will get to move on to the next round, making it extremely competitive. From there these chefs will face off in the semi-finals and compete against each other. They will prepare their best dish, and present them to a variety of judges. These judges are leading culinary experts, food critics, and top independent chefs from around the world. From there only 20 chefs will go through to the finals. The semi-finals will be held in Singapore on February 5th, while the finals will be held in Milan at a later date. The winner will attain the title of the best young chef in 2015. As a young chef, this award will help them launch their career even more and will gain them respect in this competitive industry.
