Chef's Table at Brooklyn Fare

3. The Chef’s Table at Brooklyn Fare – $306 per person

There are only fourteen Michelin Starred restaurants in the United States, and The Chef’s Table at Brooklyn Fare is one of them. In fact, it is the first New York City restaurant outside of Manhattan to get a Michelin rating, and it’s the only three-star Michelin restaurant in Brooklyn. The Brooklyn Fare, located at 200 Schermerhorn Street in Boerum Hill, is a large and well known old-school supermarket, and within it is the Chef’s Table. Here there are only 18 seats where Chef Cesar Ramirez prepares a 15 or more course tasting menu that changes every day. The food served is a combination of Japanese and French inspired dishes, and it’s unlike anything you’ve ever tasted before, given the vast diversity of ingredients that they have at their disposal. You never know what you’re going to get, but you can bet that you’ll be paying some $306 dollars per person for the meal, provided you can get a reservation of course (good luck).

Per Se

2. Per Se – $310-$320 per person

Located at 10 Columbus Circle within the Time Warner Center in Manhattan with views of Central Park, Per Se is another extremely expensive restaurant in New York City. It is another Michelin three-starred restaurant that is lead by head chef Thomas Keller. They serve up a range of French and American dishes, and the menu routinely changes. Their 9-course tasting menu will run you anywhere from $310 to $320 dollars depending on whats being served. However they also have many special occasion menus as well. For example, on New Year’s Eve there is a $950 dollar tasting menu and a $450 wine tasting menu. While those aren’t typically the norm, you will still be spending a considerable amount of money for food here.

Masa

1. Masa – $450 per person

One of the most expensive restaurants in not only New York City, but the world, is easily Masa located at 10 Columbus Circle. This restaurant is a Japanese restaurant that serves high-quality food. The legendary Masatoshi Takayama serves as the head chef and leader of Masa, and he is truly a master craftsman. Masa has only 26 seats in total, and they only offer a 26-course tasting menu that is about $450 dollars per person. It is one restaurant that consistently fills up despite the high price, and you’ll most likely have a difficult time securing a reservation here. However if you do, Masa arguably has some of the best Japanese food in the world, and that says a lot considering it’s not even in Japan.
