The Most Expensive Preschools in the United States

A Day Inside German Children's Daycare

Going to private school definitely has its benefits depending on the area you live in, but at what point should parents start paying for school? Certain parents seem to think that getting into and paying for a private preschool has its benefits and is worth the money, even if the school costs a lot. Preschools can get surprisingly pricey, so here are the most expensive in the United States.

5. Bank Street School – $40,045

The Bank Street Schools is located in New York and is associated with the Bank Street College of Education which is in the same area. The school is very serious about their approach to education and the expectations that come from there. The self proclaimed benchmark school offers a traditional learning track with reading, math, science, and art along with a time called “shop” where students get to physically play around with things.

4. Horace Mann – $41,150

The Horace Mann preschool is  once again located in New York, but this has existed since 1878. Despite the school once facing a sexual abuse scandal, they have bounced back with a serious attitude upgrade and more focus on the students. The school features an outdoor nature laboratory that allows the kids full engagement into science.

3. Ethical Cultural Fieldston School – $43,265

The Fieldston School was originally build in 1878 as a Workingman’s School by Felix Adler. This progressive school is located in Central Park West of New York and is very large for being only a preschool. The entire facility has 1,600 students and even Kelly Ripa’s son has been a student here.

2. Avenues: The World School – $43,400

The Avenues school is located on 10th avenue in New York (the Chelsea Disctrict) and has aggressively climbed the list as being one of the best preschools in the country since its founding in 2012. The school is largely known because it is one of the fewer international schools that allow (older) students to spend time abroad, while the younger grades (pre-k through 4th) mix Mandarin and Spanish into the classroom.

1. Riverdale Country School – $44,600

The Riverdale school is located in the Fieldston area of the Bronx and sits on 27 acres of beautiful land for a campus. Students here are supposed to equally focus on their mind, body, and character while following the S.T.E.A.M. curriculum that includes science, technology, engineering, art and math.
