iRobot is an American robotic and advanced technology company that develops and sells a variety of autonomous robots for both household consumers and the military/police. The company was first founded in 1990 and primarily concerned itself with developing robots for the armed services, such as bomb-difusing robots. The research grants and contracts given to iRobot by the Federal government allowed them to produce many different kinds of autonomous robots. It wasn’t until 2002 that the company began to produce and sell robots for civilians, when the company launched its Roomba line. The Roomba line has been very successful product line for iRobot, and today they make a few different models and have expand into other household cleaning robots. The Roombas are very cool; once you set them up they take care of all the cleaning without any supervision and then return to their home charging base. Here are the most expensive Roombas that iRobot makes:

5. The Roomba 650 – $399.99

The Roomba 650 is the entry level Roomba that iRobot makes with a price of $399.99. This Roomba can handle various types of carpet and hardwood floors and works best at cleaning up pet hair, fur, carpet fuzz, and lint. The Roomba 650 can clean your room with the push of a button or on a assigned cleaning schedule. The 650 has a three step cleaning process and iRobots patented AeroVac Technology.

4.The Roomba 660 – $449.99

The next model of Roomba on our list is the Roomba 660. This model is a slight improvement upon the previous version however the 660 can adjust itself to clean depending on the surface its on. It has a variety of sensors to detect if its on hardwood floor, tile, or carpet. Additionally this Roomba can be set to only clean specific rooms, as it will emit an infrared beam that acts like a wall keeping the Roomba in a specific room.

3. The Roomba 770 – $499.99

The iRobot Roomba 770 is a more advanced version of the Roomba line, and comes in at number 3 on our list. This Roomba has an improved brush and cleaning head that is designed to maximize its cleaning potential. Additonaly the 770 has sensors to detect the dirtiest spots on your floor and it will clean them harder than other ares. The dust bin on this Roomba is also slightly larger and is designed to not get clogged, as well as alerting you when the bin needs to be emptied. The 770 also has built in exhaust air-filters to eliminate unwanted dust and allergens that would normally be pushed up into the air.

2. The Roomba 870 – $599.99

The Roomba 870 comes in at number 2 on our list and it is one of the nicer models of Roombas that iRobot makes. The device has and improved airflow system and suction system that is 5 times stronger than the other models of the Roombas. In addition to having the features that the other Roombas have the 870 has a larger battery and more advanced sensors that better detect dirty spots and the layout of rooms.

1. The Roomba 880 – $699.99

With a considerable large price tag of nearly $700 dollars, the Roomba 880 is the most expensive model Roomba that iRobot makes. In addition to having the same features that the 870 model has, this Roomba cleans from room-to-room rather than the entire surface area of the house at once. The 880 also has advanced sensors that allow it to not fall down stairs or damage furniture as well as cleaning in a back-and-forth motion, much like how a person would operate a vacuum cleaner.
