The First Rolls-Royce Dawn Sells For $750,000 at Auction

Rolls-Royce Dawn

The first Rolls-Royce Dawn to officially reach the hands of a consumer has recently been sold at auction for the incredible price of $750,000 dollars. The vehicle was arguably the most popular lot featured in the 2016 Naples Winter Wine Festival, and it was easily the most expensive item sold that day.

The Rolls-Royce in question is not only the brands newest vehicle or the first one released, this particular Dawn is a bespoke one-off that was designed specifically for this festival. The vehicle was purchased by Julian and Aleen Movsesian who traveled all the way to the event specifically for this car. The cars sale price of $750,000 dollars and all the other proceeds from the auction went to the Naples Children and Education Foundation. Including the sale of this Dawn, they raised some $11 million dollars for children in need.

The Rolls-Royce Dawn features an aesthetically pleasing body, a soundproof soft-top roof, four large seats, a gorgeous interior, and a powerful 6.6-liter twin-turbo V12 that delivers some 563hp in total, among many other features. Since it’s a Rolls-Royce, they offer a seemingly unlimited amount of bespoke options as well.

Instead of turning an existing model into a convertible, Rolls-Royce created the Dawn from the ground up. Those interested in the car are looking at about $335,000 for a new one, however all of the models that will be released this year have already been sold. Regardless it’s incredible to see how much money people are willing to spend on these types of vehicles, as $750,000 is an astronomically high price but at least it went to a good cause.
