Profiling the Rezvani Beast X

Rezvani Beast X

Based out of Irvine, California, Rezvani Motors is a small automobile manufacturer that solely creates high-end, made-to-order supercars. Founded in 2014 by Ferris Rezvani, the company wanted to create vehicles that were different from the Lamborghinis and Bugattis of the world. Having worked with Ferrari and Aston Martin in the past, Ferris formed a team, purchased a 50,000-square-foot facility in California, and went straight to work. The goal was extremely ambitious, especially given the fact that the company was largely financed by Rezvani himself. Then in 2014 the brand released their first vehicle, the Beast. The Rezvani Beast was a high-performance, two-seater vehicle that used the chassis of an Ariel Atom and it was made almost entirely from carbon fiber. For a fairly boutique supercar company, the Rezvani Beast was a big hit. But now the company is looking to the future, and they have already announced a follow up to the Beast: the Beast X. It’s faster, more aggressive looking, and nothing short of amazing. Let’s take a close look at this high-end supercar.

The original Rezvani Beast was essentially a ultra-premium track day car that was also street legal, and they wanted the Beast X to be a similar type of vehicle. However as the name alludes too, the Rezvani Beast X is essentially the more absurd and extreme version of an already absurd and extreme car. Like the original, the Beast X still uses the Ariel Atom chassis, which is arguably one of the best track day cars money can buy. From there they supped up the body and made it even more aggressive looking, especially with the addition of the twin rear spoilers. The Beast X will also use the same K24 DOHC 2.4-liter engine that is sourced from Honda Racing. However Rezvani has made altercations to the engine and added two Borg Warner turbochargers. While a 2.4-liter engine may seem lackluster on paper, it is by no means weak. The engines used on the original Beast produced some 500 horsepower in total. And then you have to remember that the entire car is not only small, but made from carbon fiber. With that 500 horsepower engine and it’s 1,650-pound body, the original Beast was able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.7-seconds. That’s nearly hypercar levels of acceleration. But what about the Beast X? With their modifications, Rezvani managed to get the engine to crank out 700 horsepower in total. The Beast X does weigh slightly more at 1,850-pounds, but with 200 more horsepower, the Beast X makes you reevaluate what’s considered “fast”. Now the Beast X was only just recently unveiled, and so far none have been ordered so we dont have any official performance numbers yet. But based on what we know, the Beast X is essentially a cooler version of the Beast with 200 more horsepower. You’ll notice a difference, to say the least.

Outside of the performance bump in the engine, Rezvani made a number of other smaller changes to the car. They’ve altered the design slightly, improve the vehicles aerodynamics, and made it a better handling vehicle. But the Beast X gets even more absurd. Not only is it a 1,850-pound, 700-hp monster, it’s a 1,850-pound, 700-hp monster with rear wheel drive. As most of us know, rear wheel drive cars are infinitely more fun (and I suppose more dangerous) to drive. You’ll be able to pull all sorts of insane drifts in this car and it will really be a joy to take around a track. It will take an experienced driver to be able to handle the Beast X, but it’s not like your average driver will be purchasing this car.

Speaking of purchasing the Beast X, you’ll find that it will be very difficult to get you hands on one. First of all, these cars are made-to-order so you’d have to be fully committed to buying one before you could even test drive one. From there, you’ll need $325,000 dollars, as that is how much the Beast X will cost. But even if you are a professional driver who’s also a multi-millionaire, Rezvani will only be producing just five, yes five, Beast X’s in total. Essentially this car will be impossible to buy when it’s released sometime next year.

Regardless of how exclusive and expensive the Beast X, you could potentially make the case that it’s the ultimate driving machine. It’s not a luxury car by any standards (it doesn’t even have doors), nor is it a car that you’d necessarily want to drive everyday. Rather, this is a car that you buy to experience what it means to go fast. It’s essentially a street legal track day car that’s been pumped with steroids. It has more horsepower than a Ferrari 488… and it’s 1,402 pounds lighter. The Rezvani Beast X is not for the faint of heart, yet it’s shaping up to be one of the most extreme automobiles that you can legally own and drive on the road.
