Mercedes Announces Special Formula One Edition SL 63

The new Mercedes-Benz SL

Each year Mercedes is another luxury car company that is putting out eye popping models that continue to represent a blend between old and new. The company constructs their cars for all types of drivers and while they mainly create luxury vehicles, they also produce plenty of sports and actual racing models as well. This past Formula 1 season, the World Championship was won by a Mercedes driver and the company is planning to celebrate by offering two limited edition models of their classic SL 63 AMG car.

These cars will be extremely exclusive and only 19 units of each will be made to represent the 19 different tracks raced on during the 2014 Formula 1 season. Each car will have a different hand embroidered track map inside the car as well as the same map being engraved on the dashboard and key fob used with the car. The Mercedes drivers that finished first and second in the World Championship, Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, both have a hand in the design of these amazing SL models.

Hamilton is taking design control of the black car models which have an amazing crisp paint finish polished off with gold accents everywhere possible. Internal aspects of the car are also accented in gold, such as the stitching on the seats and the air conditioning vents. The white cars designed by Rosberg are equally as nice with a beautiful white accented with tons of grey that pair very well. The physical look of these cars really comes down to personal preference, but they both share the same 5.5 liter V8 engine that has 585 horsepower and can hit a top speed of 186 miles per hour.

Mercedes is planning on selling the cars as pairs, so customers that can afford it will get both a black and a white model. Along with the cars, these lucky enthusiasts will receive a helmet worn by each driver during the season along with a limited edition watch. The price for everything is $785,618 and that also earns owners an invite to the opening race of the 2015 Formula 1 season.
