There are supercars, and then there are “megacars” which is a term coined by the Swedish manufacturer of supercars known as Koenigsegg Automotive AB. The company was formed in 1994 and are based out of Angelholm, Sweden. The company aimed to create the worlds most premium supercars, and while they aren’t as well known as other supercar brands their cars are still amazing. When the Bugatti Veyron, the LaFerrari , and the Pagani Huayra just don’t cut it for you, you have got to check out Koenigsegg’s newest vehicle: the One:1.

Supercars aim to be the highest performing vehicles that money can buy. In terms of performance, a vehicle that has a power to weight ratio of 1:1 is what companies strive for as that is the best balance of weight and power. Well as the name of the One:1 implies, Koenigsegg has done just exactly that. The vehicle has an exact horsepower to kilogram curb weight ration of 1:1. This is also the first production car ever that uses one megawatt of power, which is why Koenigsegg classifies it as a “megacar”.

The vehicle achieves this incredible power to weight ratio with its high powered engine and its lightweight parts. The vehicle is equipped with a 5.0 liter twin-turbo charged V8 engine that packs 1,340 horsepower (1,360 PS) and an unbelievable 1,011 pounds-feet of torque. Technically using the Imperial measurement system it does not have a power-to-weight ratio of 1:1, but when using the metric system it does as the car weighs 1,360 kilograms. Regardless of the little details, this car is really fast and powerful. More powerful than the highest-end Bugatti’s that money can buy.

Aside from the cars amazing engine, the One:1 is also outfitted with a bunch of high-tech race and performance features. It has extended venturi tunnels and side splitters, tack optimized aero winglets, large air vents, a roof air scoop, rear triplex suspension, an advanced computer system to control virtually everything, a seven-speed dual clutch racing transmission, carbon fiber and aluminum body work, specially designed Michelin racing tires, and much more. According to Koenigsegg this car will travel from 0-60 miles per hour in less than 2.8 seconds, 0-186 miles per hour in 12 seconds, and it will reach its top speed of 273 miles per hour in just 20 seconds. This vehicle is arguably one of the best performing cars ever made. The vehicle can also use biofuel for those looking to go green. Koenigsegg hasn’t said anything about price, however it probably costs a few million dollar at least, as their other vehicles sell between $2 to $4 million. Unfortunately if you want one you are out of luck as Koenigsegg is only making six of these brutes, and all of them have been sold.
