The Lamborghini Huracan is Commissioned as a Police Car in Italy

Lamborghini Huracan Police

What do you do if you are a police officer that needs to pull over a speeding supercar, or you have to get to the scene of a crime really fast? You fight fire with fire of course. Bad news for street racers and criminals in Italy looking to evade the police as the Italian Polizia have now acquired a modified Lamborghini Huracan that will serve as a police car on the force. This Huracan, dubbed the Huracan LP 610-4 Polizia, is the newest member of the Italian police force, and is the perfect answer to speeding criminals.

This special Huracan has undergone a few modifications. It’s not just simply a Lamborghini painted in police colors, it has all the functions of a police car, and then some. Like the standard Huracan, this police cruiser features a powerful 5.2 liter V10 engine that pumps out 602 brake horse power. The car can accelerate from 0-62 miles per hour in just 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 202 miles per hour, speeders beware.

Outside of the standard Huracan features, there are many cool and unique features as well. The vehicle has an automatic number plate recognition system and a real time image transmission system to help track stolen vehicles. There are gun holsters, a police radio, and much more. The police lights on top had to be specially designed to allow the car to remain aerodynamic and able to travel at its top speed without being ripped off. The car also has four, extremely loud sirens to combat the noise generated from the cars massive engine.

The features do not stop there however. Additionally the front luggage compartment has been outfitted with a high-tech refrigeration system. This allows the Huracan to double as a urgent medical vehicle that can transport organs to those in need at extremely high speeds.

Lamborghini was kind enough to donate this modified Huracan to the Italian police force for free, and it is not the first. The Italian police force also have a few modified Gallardo’s as well, also donated by Lamborghini. It seems like this probably won’t be the last Lamborghini that the Italian police receive also, as they have a great relationship with the supercar company.
