The Five Most Expensive Ford Cars Out Right Now

New York International Auto Show Debuts Latest Automobiles

Nothing beats the roar of a classic American made Ford car engine, that’s for sure. The car industry is only getting more interesting as technology advances and the world is slowly making the shift to more and more electric cars. Ford has really freshened up their look lately and re-entered the spotlight by keeping their designs fresh and moving down the eco-friendly route and offering electric models of their new and classic cars. Here are the most expensive Ford cars out right now.

5. Edge Sport – $37,600

The Edge Sport is a nice mid-sized SUV model that can seat five people. The car packs a suprising 3.7L V6 engine with 305 horsepower. For the size of this vehicle it still packs a punch and feels like a Ford car despite its smaller overall size.

4. Taurus SHO – $40,105

Sliding into fifth is the Taurus SHO. The base model Taurus actually has a slightly better gas mileage compared the the SHO version, but the upgraded model packs the power that the base doesn’t have. The SHO model features an upgraded 3.5 liter V6 engine that has up to 365 horsepower.

3. Explorer Sport – $42,670

The Ford Explorer is a beastly SUV that can seat between five and seven passengers. Upgrading to the sport package delivers drivers an increased 3.5L V6 ecoboost engine that also features 365 horsepower just like the Taurus. The Explorer is a large but sporty looking SUV and has a great design for its size, but the base price for the sport version is $42,670.

2. Expedition – $55,955

The Expedition is a massive SUV that seems like a street legal tank. The car seats between five and eight people and has more than enough space if you ever need to transport large items. The Expedition is able to haul a crazy 9200 lbs. along with it which is great for those with a boat or other vehicles. The only downside of a car this large? The gas mileage. The Expedition gets a measly 14 miles per gallon in the city and 20 on the highway.

1. Shelby GT500 Convertible – $60,110

What else did you expect would top this list off? None other than the Shelby GT500 Convertible, the most iconic Ford car out there. The most recent GT500 Mustang has a 5.8L 32-valved supercharged V8 engine that packs a monstrous 662 horsepower. The car’s manual version comes in a 6-speed and even has 15 vented rotors for air flow.
