Outside of Ferrari’s regular offerings of incredible performance cars, the legendary Italian brand creates some special and unique one-off’s from time to time. Typically car manufacturers do this for either extremely high-paying buyers, or to celebrate some sort of event. Well the newest Ferrari one-off is here, and it’s a modified F12 that will be delivered to Singapore.
Dubbed the “SG50” F12berlinetta, Ferrari has created this unique car for the only Ferrari dealership in Singapore: Ital Auto. The reason they did this? Well Singapore is gearing up to celebrate their 50th anniversary as a nation, and it’s a pretty big deal over there, to say the least. I mean, Ferrari has made them a special car.
Singapore is known for their high standard of living, and it’s a place where you will often see very expensive automobiles. So it does make sense as to why Ferrari has done this. The SG50 F12 has been finished in a new metallic red color, called “Rosso Singapore”. And no, you cannot get this color on any other Ferrari. Also on the car we see racing stripes that are in the colors of the Singaporean flag. We also find a few badges throughout the car that say: “Singapore 50th Anniversary, Edition 1/1”. A fitting touch given what this car is meant to celebrate. However outside of these small changes, the car is “just” your standard F12berlinetta. But that’s not a bad thing by any means, given what this car has to offer.
The F12berlinetta was original introduced back in 2012, and it still remains as one of the brands more premium automobiles. I mean, Ferrari’s are already pretty high-end, but with a base price of around $323,000 dollars, the F12 is almost $100,000 dollars more than the new 488. Actually, besides the LaFerrari, this is the most expensive Ferrari you can currently buy. Under the hood the car offers a 6.3-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine. The engine sounds like the voice of an angel and it can pump out some 730 hp in total. 0 to 60 mph is achieved in 3.1 seconds and it can reach speeds of over 211 mph. Still as impressive as the performance numbers are, the F12berlinetta is supposed to be one of the most comfortable Ferrari’s to drive. Apparently you can actually use the car on a day-to-day basis with relative ease, at least that’s what I’ve heard. Sorry I cannot personally attest to this, as I’ve not had the pleasure of driving a $323,000 dollar Ferrari.
Singapore is a small city-state filled with expensive cars, so this new Ferrari will fit right in. However there’s still no word on the price. The standard F12berlinetta costs $323,000 in the United States. The cost of importing such a vehicle to Singapore means it’s going to be even more money, to say nothing about the taxes. It’s also a one-of-a-kind version of the F12berlinetta, so this car will be extremely expensive to say the least. Regardless, it’s an impressive vehicle and one lucky individual will get their hands on it, and I am certainly jealous.
