BMW has been putting out a ton of nice years since their inception, and over the past decade they have really improved the external designs of their vehicles while completely upgrading the interior features as well. Throughout the entire process BMW has made sure to keep their cars extremely luxurious and offer comfort mixed with speed and power. Lately, BMW has been making a push to become more electric and environmentally friendly by having their concept cars be a reality with models like the i3 hitting the actual market, and they just announced that they plan on offering plug in options for their top selling cars.

BMW really wants to improve the fuel efficiency of their vehicles and going electric has been the way to do so. Locations around the world such as London have started to offer low emission zones that offer charging zones to benefit those being greener than others. Offering a hybrid model allows customers to get more travel distance out of their BMW cars. The company unveiled that they will offer their staple 3 series model in a hybrid, which will now be able to get 22 miles on pure electric power.

BMW has also stated that they are going to roll out a hybrid version of their X-5 SUV type car model and might even apply this hybrid change to other car manufacturers they have control of. Offering “i” vehicles will surely attract new customers and keep the old ones just as intrigued by the new angle to the cars. While BMW does have plans to roll out their i8 plug in super car, there is no set date for when that will be hitting the market, so in the meantime, the company has chosen to convert their staple models into electric, green friendly, hybrids.
