Alfa Romeo to Launch SUV for 2016

2014 Geneva Motor Show

It’s been a while since Alfa Romeo was a player in the United States car industry. Since the brand’s departure from the states we’ve seen luxury manufacturers like BMW, Mercedes, Porsche and more build successful SUVs. In fact, the luxury car brand SUV is one of the most in-demand vehicles on the market. Knowing that, Alfa Romeo has started planning its triumphant return to the USA auto market.

Alfa Romeo will launch its 4C coupe at the New York Auto Show in April. If the launch is successful, Alfa is going to go heavy in it’s investment back to America. The plan would be to launch a luxury coupe that will rival the BMW 3 series than drop an elegant off-roader that will compete against the Audi Q3 and BMW X3. The compact SUV will have the trademark Alfa Romeo styling and handling finesse.

The car is expected to go into production in 2016 and will be followed by a larger version designed to target the Audi Q5 market. As usual, all the cars built by Alfa will be manufactured in Italy and exported.

The commitment to this plan all relies on the success of the 4C at the New York Auto Show. If the vehicle impresses US buyers as it has European car fanatics than Alfa will be reassured to move forward with their plan. You can click the link above to see the 4C. It looks awesome, but it’s hard to imaging another luxury vehicle supplanted one of the brands that has been solidified in America for quite some time. I would be very interested in seeing the SUV design though so we’re wishing the 4C luck!
