Only a very small portion of the general public will get to drive a Ferrari, let alone actually own one. As much as you might like their cars, purchasing a supercar is out of most of our budgets. Since most of us won’t ever own one of these cars, there are other ways that you can show your love for the Ferrari brand. Ferrari sells a wide variety of clothing, headphones, bags, accessories, watches, models, and a variety of other merchandise on their website and they are the best things to buy if you want to own something made by Ferrari. But while they are cheaper than their cars, their merchandises is still fairly expensive. For example, a child’s long sleeve t-shirt is $60 dollars. That’s a good deal of money. So why don’t we take a look at some of the absurdly expensive (and just downright bizarre) stuff that Ferrari sells that aren’t actually cars.
The LaFerrari 48-Hour Bag – $3,050
A small, travel bag is typically something you can get for under $50 dollars, but that’s not the case with Ferrari. They sell a variety of Ferrari-branded travel gear/luggage, and this weekend bag is one of the most expensive ones at $3,050 dollars. Made from leather, the LaFerrari 48-Hour bag is ideal for short, weekend trips. It offers two interior pockets, a sleeve for a computer, and an exterior pocket. And of course, it has Ferrari detail work.
The California Electric Toy Car – $480
Why should your child have to settle for driving an electric toy car from Toys R’ Us, when they could be driving a Ferrari California? Made for children aged 3 to 5 years old, their California toy car is one of the most expensive toys that you could get for your kid. It has a 12V electric engine, two seats, and a removable battery. Get this for your children, and they’ll make all the other kids in their fake Hummers jealous.
The Carbon Fiber Chess Set – $2,200
As I’ve previously mentioned, Ferrari sells a massive range of different products outside the world of cars, and this chess set is another great example. Priced at $2,200, it’s also extremely expensive. But as the name implies, the set is made from the same carbon fiber that they use in their cars. The pieces are made from polished wood and the squares alternate between carbon fiber and fiberglass.
The Cavallino Rampante Keyring – $360
Ferrari is probably the first company to successfully create a keyring that costs $360 dollars. But it’s not just any keyring, it’s a Ferrari keyring. However it is the materials (and branding) that contribute to the price of this product. The entire keyring is handmade in Italy out of silver. It’s then complete with the Ferrari prancing horse that’s made from 18-karat gold.
The 1959-65 Steering Wheel – $4,550
The cost of owing a new Ferrari is absurdly expensive, but compared to the classic vehicles from the late 1950’s and the 1960’s, the new ones are “cheap”. Some of the most expensive cars ever sold are Ferrari’s that come from those years. So if you can’t afford one but want a piece of memorabilia, luckily for you Ferrari sells the steerings wheels from these cars. It’s a replica, but it’s the closest thing to the real deal. But at $4,550, is it too much?
The Ladies Cavallino Rampante Jacket – $2,050
A genuine leather jacket is an expensive article of clothing to own, and at $2,050 dollars, this jacket from Ferrari would be in the high-end of leather jackets. You can get jackets from brands like Gucci or Burberry for that kind of money. Regardless, the Cavallino Rampant Jacket is made from quality suede leather sheepskin and it features a stylish and clean look. Obviously we see the Ferrari logo located throughout the jacket, and it is just another example of some of their expensive products.
The Scuderia Spider Surf Board – $1,700
You probably wouldn’t believe someone if they told you that Ferrari produces and sells a surf board, but they in fact do. At 7 feet and 2 inches in length, their surf board is certainly very large, and at $1,700 dollars it’s not cheap either. The board is made from polyurethane, resin, glass fiber, and its fins are even made from carbon fiber. It’s certainly a high-end surf board, and probably the only surf board you can buy with the Ferrari name on it.
The 268 SP Front End Replica – $18,250
Maybe you can’t afford to buy a real Ferrari, but at least you could own a part from one. One of their most expensive items on their merchandise store is this replica of the front end of a Ferrari 268 SP. It’s a 1:12 scale replica that’s produced exactly like the car’s actually body was back in the day. You could own this, or alternatively spend the $18,250 dollars and get a real car. But I suppose if you can realistically afford this product, then there’s a good chance you already drive a nice car.
