Rich and famous celebrities have the means to purchase some truly incredible things that most people often dream of, especially the A-listers. Once you enter into a certain tax bracket many things suddenly become very affordable and you might find yourself saying “I should buy this” to items that you wouldn’t have normally purchased. Some celebrities are known for their crazy purchases, but what are some of the most insane? 20. Ben Affleck – A $2,500 Rug
First up on our list is Ben Affleck. Apparently when future Bruce Wayne was filming on-site in Turkey, he decided that he need to buy a rug. Okay that’s pretty normal, except this rug costed Ben $2,500 dollars. Apparently it sits on his bathroom floor.

19. Kelly Rowland – A $5,200 Bathtub
Singer Kelly Rowland apparently gifted Beyoncé and Jay-Z a $5,200 Swarovski pink baby bathtub to celebrate the birth of the power-couples daughter, Blue Ivy Carter. A pretty insane gift if you ask me.

18. Beyoncé – $100,000 Leggings
Since we just mentioned Beyoncé, she is next up on our list for crazy purchases. Back in 2007, Beyoncé delivered an amazing performance at the BET awards. Her outfit was also pretty amazing as she was sporting $100,000 gold leggings designed by Balenciaga.

17. Jennifer Aniston – $150,00 to stay beautiful
Apparently Jennifer Aniston spends a lot of money to stay beautiful and in-shape. A few sources looked at where she gets her haircut, how much her yoga class costs, what make-up brands she eats, what her diet is like, and a variety of other things. They figured she spends around $150,000 on it all in about a year. I think most people would if they could afford it also, because it seems to be working for her.

16. Mike Tyson – Bengal Tigers costing $140,000
We see Mike Tyson play himself in the Hangover, where he catches the guys stealing one of his pet tigers. Well apparently that isn’t just some made up craziness, as Tyson actually did purchase three Bengal Tigers for pets. It also apparently costs around $60,000 a year just to feed one of them.

15. Daniel Radcliffe – A $17,000 mattress
Actor Daniel Radcliffe grew to fame with Harry Potter, and he apparently values his sleep highly as he was reported to have purchased a mattress costing $17,000. If I could afford a mattress that much, I would definitely get it. Who doesn’t like to sleep?

14. Heidi Klum – A $2,500 puppy
Heidi Klum wanted to give her daughter a puppy as a gift, but she wanted a purebred dog fit for a show. So she reportedly dropped $2,500 on a Havanese puppy.

For a prominent celebrity like Katie Holmes, a $850 designer purse is nothing. However the purse wasn’t for her. Apparently when her daughter Suri was three, she picked up that bag for her daughter as a birthday present.

Apparently Jessica Simpson bought her then boyfriend, now ex-, Tony Romo a 25-foot long custom speed boat costing $100,000 dollars. I guess it wasn’t enough, as the couple broke up three months later. Boats are always bad investments.

Apparently one time when Bono was traveling, he accidentally left a hat in Italy. So his logical response was to purchase a $1,700 dollar plane ticket to ship his hat to him.

Victoria Beckham apparently purchased a gold-plated iPhone 4 back in the day. While I’m sure it was luxurious, the phone is now severely out-dated. At least the gold keeps its value.

Legendary director Steven Spielberg really likes the move Citizen Kane. So much in fact, that he purchased the Rosebud sled used in the film in an auction for $60,000 big ones.

6. Paris Hilton – A $325,000 dog house
Socialite and heiress, Paris Hilton, is known to be overtly found of her dogs. So much so that she actually ordered a 300 square-foot dog “mansion” for her pets that reportedly costed around $325,000 dollars. I’m not sure if the dogs would know the difference between that or a regular dog house, but hey it’s her money.

5. Nicolas Cage – A $276,000 dinosaur head
Apparently actor Nicolas Cage dropped some serious cash at an auction for a head of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. He spent $276,000 on the head and had to outbid Leonardo DiCaprio for it.

For his 29th birthday, Diddy apparently spend around half a million dollars for the celebration. Around 1,200 people showed up to celebrate and enjoy themselves.

Brad Pitt has amassed a considerably amount of money over the years, and when he’s not spending it on charity, he likes to buy things from time to time. A few years ago Brad dropped $960,000 dollars on a painting by German artist Neo Rauch.

1. Kim Basinger – A $20 million dollar town
Apparently actress and former model, Kim Basinger, was traveling through the state of Georgia in 1989 where she decided to buy a town. At the time Braselton, Georgia did have a sign indicating it was for sale and the actress spent $20 million dollars to acquire it. She hoped to turn it into a tourist attraction and build movie studios there, but unfortunately that never happened. Basinger encountered financial problems (surprise surprise) and eventually had to sell off all of the real-estate. Still this is probably the most insane celebrity purchase of all time.
