Damon Wayans revealed something he was not supposed to on a talk show recently. During Charlamagne Tha God’s show, The Breakfast Club, Wayans blurted out that Tracy Morgan Settled his lawsuit with Walmart for $90 million. A previous report stated the money would be paid out over 5 years. However, the total sum was never disclosed. In fact Tracy Morgan’s rep said that the terms of the settlement are confidential adding “Tracy has had no contact with Mr. Wayans since before the accident so there is no way he would be able to know this and thus is false.”
Damon casually mentioned the figure during a discussion about comedians who have the financial independence to do comedy on their own terms. When you watch the clip below it’s pretty obvious that Wayans was not saying this in any kind of rehearsed of premeditated way. This was pretty spur of the moment. Interesting that we just reported Morgan buying a $13.9 million mansion.
We still don’t know if these numbers are true but $90 million is a pretty simple number to say and it’s hard to know why Wayans would ever make that up.
When you watch the clip, it’s pretty clear this was not a premeditated statement … it came out of Damon’s mouth as stream of consciousness.
