The Best Celebrity Tippers

"Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" Press Conference - 64th Annual Cannes Film Festival

While us normal folks struggle with the decision to leave 20 or 25 percent on a restaurant bill, most celebrities have the coin to leave whatever they want to—assuming they got good service. And since some have proven to be a little bit more generous than others, we’re giving you the best celebrity tippers. Being the waiter or waitress getting this extra change would be pretty cool.

5. Drew Carey – $400

The former comedian and current host of The Price is Right, Drew Carey knows what it’s like to pay his dues and work his way up—as he was a waiter himself before getting into standup. That’s why he left a $400 tip on a $250 tab once following a meal at a steakhouse in L.A.

4. Hulk Hogan – $80

He may be best-known for crushing skulls, but wrestling legend Hulk Hogan once crushed it with the sizable tip he left a server. The same night he was seen posing for pictures with fans, the Hulkster left a generous $80 tip on a $120 bill, proving that he’s just a big softy at heart.

3. Charlie Sheen – $200

While the other two stars mentioned left big-time cash for their servers, Charlie Sheen made sure that each person on the event staff at his daughter’s movie debut back in 2000 would be #winning, as Sheen dropped $200 into each of their wallets. In addition to that kind act, Sheen has been known for tipping upwards of $100 at beauty salons, too.

2. David Beckham – $900

He’s one of the world’s richest athletes, so it’s good to see former soccer star David Beckham give some of that money back when he gets good service. Becks did exactly that a few years ago, as he racked up a $100 bill with his former L.A. Galaxy teammates and left a whopping $900 tip, even though he just had some mineral water as his mates enjoyed snacks and beer.

1. Johnny Depp – $4,000

One of the coolest guys in Hollywood, actor Johnny Depp proved he was just that when he was dining at a steakhouse in Chicago a few years back. Treating his Public Enemies co-stars to dinner, they rolled up a bill of $4,400, meaning they were on the hook for about $1,110 if they tipped right. Depp didn’t just settle for 25 percent, though, as he left an additional $4,000, leaving the servers with quite the reward for getting him and his fellow stars that night.
