House Used in The Godfather is the Most Expensive House on the Market Now

The Beverly Hills mansion used to film the famous scene from The Godfather in which a bloody horse ends up in the bed of a film producer is on the market – again. Known as the Beverly House, this 6-acre estate sits approximately 3 blocks from Sunset Blvd and has been on and off the market several times since 2007, when it was originally listed for $165 million. The house is now listed for approximately $135 million.

Attorney Leonard Ross owns the mansion, and he was inspired to put it back on the market after the Fleur de Lys, the former most expensive home for sale in the United States, sold for a cash price of $102 million. The impressive home was built by banker Milton Getz back in the 20s and has since been called home by some of the most famous faces in Hollywood history, including actress Marion Davis and publishing magnate William Randolph Hearst. It’s the home in which Jackie O. and JFK spent their honeymoon and it’s been the background for many famous Hollywood films, including The Godfather.

Situated on 6 Hollywood acres, the mansion features five buildings in which you will find 28 bedrooms, 36 bathrooms and an 8 car garage. There is also a staff house, a gym, a wine cellar, a gym, a lighted tennis court and a media center. If you like to dance, you’ll enjoy the night club. If you have 400 close friends and family members, you can invite them over to dine on your 400-person terrace. There are also two screening rooms and a massage room, in which you and your guests can relax.

This impressive Hollywood home has been on the market without a bite on several occasions, probably due in large part to the downfall of the economy in 2008 and the limited buyer pool that comes along with a home that’s for sale for well over a hundred million dollars.
