It costs a lot of money to construct any building, as anyone that’s ever built a house will tell you. The cost of labor, supplies, permits, fees, décor and everything down to the nails is expensive. There is no such thing as an inexpensive building. In the United States, there are plenty of pricey buildings though none in our country top the list of most expensive buildings in the world. Tthere are some here that cost an outrageous sum – and all but one are in Las Vegas.
The Palazzo – $2.05 billion
Built in 2007, this 50-story hotel is one of the most detailed in the city. The shopping area is a shrine to Italy, with detailed artwork on the ceilings, walls, and everywhere in between. It’s here you’ll find some of the most amazing shopping in the city. It’s high-end all the way, and that’s what makes it so expensive.
Bellagio – $2.29 billion
It’s another Las Vegas resort that stands as one of the most expensive buildings constructed in the United States. This particular hotel only has 36 stories. It was built in 1998, and it’s one of the most famous hotels in the city. It’s not an old building, but few hotels in Vegas really are these days. However, it’s sheer luxury and class make it understandable how someone could spend this kind of money on a hotel.
Wynn Resort – $3.26 billion
Despite only being 45 floors, this gorgeous Las Vegas hotel is one of the most gorgeous buildings in the city. It’s high-end, upscale class all the way. There are some truly gorgeous buildings in Vegas, and some luxe hotels, but none compare to this uber-expensive building that was constructed in 2005.
One World Trade Center – $3.8 billion
Built in 2012, this 104 story New York City building is one that is bittersweet. It stands in the place where the two World Trade Center towers stood until their collapse in 2001 after being taken down by terrorist planes. The building is a monument and a place of remembrance; and it was expensive to construct.
The Cosmopolitan – $4.16 billion
Having been to the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas on several occasions, it’s admittedly a lovely building. Chic, elegant and sophisticated are just a few appropriate adjectives. With 52 floors, this building is the most expensive built in the US with the price of inflation adjusted for 2012, though it was built in 2010.
