The Top Five Hotels in Sedona, Arizona

sedona

After a quick jaunt to Arizona earlier in June to meet with my husband’s new company and see their corporate offices, I have to admit that there is something quite special about Arizona. While nature is a big deal here and I’m not much into that for myself, I love the dry heat, the high temps and the fact that the people are so friendly. The colors here are breathtaking, the mornings and evenings cool and comfortable and when you’ve lived your entire almost 33 years in Florida where the humidity chokes you the moment the door opens, 120-degree dry heat is nothing.

Sedona might not be on the beach. It might not be in the middle of snowcapped mountains. It might not have casinos, skyscrapers or really anything that you might choose to vacation near at the top of your list, but it has character. It is simple, it is beyond lovely, and it’s where you go to rest. Known for its luxury spas and beautiful outdoor activities, we have to advise you that a weekend in one of these amazing luxury hotels is not just a suggestion; it’s a must.

l'auberge

L’Auberge de Sedona – $325+

Being part of the L’Auberge family, you know this resort is nothing short of luxurious. It gets our pick as the most luxurious five-star hotel in Sedona, and it’s for many good reasons. What we love about this hotel is that the rooms are spacious and large, the outdoor space is breathtaking, and the restaurants are amazing. The entire resort was remodeled in 2010, and everything offered in each room is nothing short of sheer luxury. There are 13 suites worthy of any stay, and you will not find better views of the hills in the distance, as well as many creeks on the property that are so relaxing to hear you will want to spend your time here resting.

sedona rouge

Sedona Rouge Hotel and Spa – $200+

We love a boutique hotel that offers this much luxury. With only 103 rooms and 20 suites, it’s definitely got a boutique feel. This hotel is luxurious in that it has a Mediterranean design which might not seem as if it works well with Sedona’s surroundings, but it does. The spa here is one of the most luxurious in the city, and it is not uncommon to see famous faces here regularly. Each room has a Simmons Plush pillow top mattress to make nights more comfortable, and the food at REDS is the best in the area.

amara

Amara Creekside Resort – $300+

Location, location, location; this hotel is just a few steps from the luxurious uptown area, which means you’ll never run out of things to do. It’s right on the front of the Oak Creek, so you’ll have hills and water surrounding you. What we love here is that this five-star hotel features high ceilings in each room for added luxury, and high-end amenities. It’s all local artwork featured throughout the hotel, and the personal concierge is happy to arrange anything for anyone at any time. You can dine here, but we recommend you walk around the area and ask for recommendations from the locals.

enchantment

Enchantment Resort and Mii Amo Spa – $435+

This hotel is almost built right into the beautiful red rocks that have been left untouched around it, and it’s amazing. The views are unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Don’t let the simple exterior fool you; this place is sheer luxury all the way through. The entire hotel is created to work around nature and all the natural beauty in Sedona, but the staff is here to make sure your stay is unmatched with award winning restaurants and the most famous spa in the city – get a treatment; any treatment.

adobe

Adobe Village Graham Inn – $500+

This hotel is the only four-star hotel on the list, but do not let that deter you from staying here. The Adobe has been awarded 9 years in a row for its excellence and luxury, and it’s lovely. All the rooms are casitas – there are only 11 rooms to be precise. Each one is approximately 1,000-square feet. They’re called romantic and lovely, and all of them have see-through fireplaces. Each casita has a Jacuzzi tub, waterfall showers and a fully stock fridge in a small kitchen. The hotel offers pastries and hors d’ouvres each evening, along with a cocktail hour. The only problem is that it is not easy to find availabilities here without booking months in advance – and even then it’s tough.
