The Guy Who Made a $1500 Sandwich in Six Months

Sandwich

Creating a sandwich is a simple task. You choose the ingredients you want to enjoy, and you put them together on your choice of bread. Some people prefer a different kind of bread than others, some prefer a wrap to a sandwich and some like to make theirs a bit more personal than others. What’s so wonderful about a sandwich is that you can personalize it any way you want. You can make it the way you want to make it and have something uniquely created and designed for you to ensure you get precisely what you want. While no sandwich beats the ones you can purchase from the sub shop in a Publix supermarket, you can bet that this man has something to say about that. He spent 6 months of his life creating the perfect sandwich, and it’s actually a $1,500 sandwich.

It’s an easy process, if you like work and you have a great deal of patience. The first thing you have to do to make this sandwich is start a garden. You’ll need to plant all the different vegetables you want on the sandwich in the garden to ensure that they grow properly and well. Then you’ll work on the next phase, which is getting ocean water and working the salt through it. Of course, you’ll also have to grow your cucumbers a bit faster than everything else so that you can place them in jars and can them. The goal here is to create perfect pickles. It’s also helpful to milk a cow.

This is to ensure you are able to make your own cheese. You also need wheat so that you can make your own bread from scratch; and you certainly have to become the bravest person around to head to a beehive and get some honey from it. It’s recommended that you do this the professional way; it’s far safer. You’ll also need to kill a chicken so that you can get the meat from it to use on the sandwich. It’s a very long process from start to finish.

Once you are close to being finished with everything involved in this sandwich, you’ll make your bread. This is a process that is quite delicate, as bread is something that is sometimes easy to make and sometimes not. Once you’re done with that, your chicken or turkey is cooked, and your garden is finished, you’ll wash your vegetables and begin the assembly process.

This man spent six months of his life doing all this and more, and he has the world’s not-quite most expensive sandwich to show for it. Months of his time, hours of his energy and the patience of a saint and he finally has a sandwich that he thinks is all right. He says that after all this time it’s not bad, but that’s all that it is. Perhaps he should have just gone to Publix and spent 10 minutes in line getting that sandwich on his own from someone else.
