Woodside Priory –  $56,550

This prep school is located in Portola Valley, California. Tuition to send your children here for four years is the most expensive of anywhere in the country, coming in at over $56k per year. There are less than 400 students enrolled in Woodside, and each one is given a free period in which they devote their time to extracurricular activities such as Model UN. Children here tend to go onto some of the best Ivy League schools in the country.

St. Albans School –  $55,720

Located in the nation’s capital, this prep school is designed for kids who want to go on to achieve the best education and high paying careers. The school has only 575 students, primarily because the point is to provide a much lower student to teacher ratio for the best possible learning environment. Each summer, students are encouraged to sign up for a month long school of public service.

Idyllwild Arts Academy –  $55,200

This Idyllwild-Pine Grove, California prep school is only for the students who have a love and aptitude for the arts. The students who attend school here are the ones that go onto further their education in the arts, including music and dance. On the weekends, this school features opportunities for students to engage further in their arts in open mike nights and other less-formal activities.

Dana Hall  – $54,980

Located in Wellesley, Massachusetts, Dana Hall is a prep school for girls. The curriculum is one of the most difficult in the country, and each of the dorm rooms comes with its own monitor and director so that all girls’ student lives and expectations are met and exceeded. Girls here are known to split pretty evenly between East Coast and West Coast schools.

Lawrence Academy –  $54,750

In Groton, Massachusetts, Lawrence Academy ensures that no child is left feeling bullied. There is a zero-tolerance policy for bullying and anyone caught deliberately making another student feel unwelcome or badly is removed from the program. Aside from an excellent sports program, Lawrence Academy is one of the most academically successful schools in the nation.
