The Five Most Influential Ferrari Models of All-Time

There is no feeling in the world quite like cruising down the 405 in a Ferrari. Trust me, I know this. My family is in the business, and it’s just a bit of a perk that comes with having these amazing cars at your disposal at any given moment in time. Perhaps it explains why it is that I am such a car snob in general, but I like to think that has more to do with the fact that I’m just particular and not because of my family. Either way, Ferrari is about to do some serious business as their billion-dollar-plus IPO is getting closer with ever tick of the clock. What it means is that you – yes, you – can have a piece of Ferrari without the income to support it, to be quite honest

Since we are such Ferrari fans around here and a big moment for the company is just around the corner, we thought we might take a few moments to stop and discuss what we love most about this company. It’s the gorgeous prancing horse. It’s the amazing beauty and it is the timeless nature of this beast that makes it so amazing. In all honesty, though, it’s not the newest, the sleekest and the most modern of the Ferraris that really capture our attention. Some of the most important models are the ones of days long past, and we can’t help but appreciate the classic nature of these gorgeous beasts; and beasts they certainly are.

It was 1947. It was the third car to come out of the line, but the first to actually carry the name thanks to some paperwork and some formalities to come out of Enzo. Just look at it; it’s everything phenomenal about a car, and it’s breathtaking. With 118-horsepower, it was a V12 engine variant – and it was hot.

This sedan was only on the market from 1948 to 1950. What makes it one of the most influential Ferraris of all time is that it was the first model to reach success in terms of international sales when so many other Ferraris could not do that. Back then, this hot car came with room for four and a 2-liter 90-HP V12.

Hello 1957, you beautiful year. What is more beautiful than that iconic Testarossa badge? The correct answer is nothing, in case you were wondering. This is the first Ferrari to say hello to that, and it was perhaps the first of the many years of this car’s history to show up with this gorgeous body style and its amazing prowess. Additionally, this is the first of the Ferraris to show up with the red painted engine heads. It was powerful, too, with its 300-HP V12.

Back in 1962, the name of the game changed with this one. It’s one of the most expensive cars in the world even today. It’s also sleek. It’s got the powerful V12, the gorgeous 3.0-liter, and it’s muscular and masculine. It might just be the most iconic model of all time when you ask any Ferrari enthusiast which one is his or her favorite – you’ll hear this model more often than not on the list.

Forty years of Ferrari was worth celebrating, so the company did just that with this iconic model. It’s sleek, it’s hot and it’s more like the more modern styles you see today. In fact, it’s the last of the Ferrari’s on the line to actually get approval from Enzo Ferrari himself before he died, which does make it a special one. From 1987 to 1992, this car owned the road. In fact, it owned everything those years and people only wished they owned this iconic model.
