Mercedes Pulling a Swan Song with The Introduction of the 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT

Mercedes-Benz is a company that’s used to being in the news, on top of the game and always loved by clients. And it knows that when it announced the return of SLS AMG in 2009, it made a huge splash in the automotive world. It’s been five years since that announcement, and the company has decided to go ahead and make yet another big announcement by bringing back something even more amazing. The company announced recently that they would be bringing the Mercedes-AMG GT back into production.

When you get down to it, the car is a lot smaller and a lot more powerful, but it’s so much more than that. The vehicle is a much more elegant and upscale version of its ancestor, and it’s worth a second look. With a front, mid-mounted engine and a rear wheel power supply, it’s a car that has some serious power and intimidation. In 2016, however, Mercedes is doing something a little different. The company is designing two new models.

The standard and the upgraded models will have some major differences. The standard is featured with a 456-horsepower engine and the upgraded version has 503-horsepower. They have the same V8 with a twin turbo engine, and both will exceed 190 miles per hour if pushed. The upgraded version will make it from 0 to 60 in less than 3.7 seconds, which puts it on par with some of the most powerful sports cars in the luxury market.

There is no pricing just yet, though the company has made some indication that the cars will start somewhere between $100,000 and $120,000. The upgraded version is set to appear in the lineup at Mercedes dealerships in the spring of

2015 while the regular version is going to be released sometime in early 2016 for buyers.
