The Most Expensive Family Sedan is the Rolls Royce Phantom

Driving a family sedan is often preferable than an SUV or minivan for parents of one or two children. The desire to drive something more compact, luxurious and more fun sometimes trumps the need for ample space and large accommodations. Forgoing luxury is not something all families are comfortable with, which is why luxury car manufacturers broke into the sedan market, creating family-friendly sedans that don’t skimp on luxe features, but only one achieves the status of being the most luxurious, most expensive family sedan on the market.

The Rolls Royce Phantom

The Phantom was first introduced to the world in 1925 and has since become the most expensive, most luxurious sedan on the market. With a base price beginning around $400,000, it doesn’t seem like the type of vehicle in which families would choose, but it is. This luxury ride offers seating for five with ample headroom and space in the backseat. If families choose to transport their children in the Phantom, they can entertain them with the rear seat entertainment system as well as the premium sound system that comes standard in even the base model.

What Makes the Phantom Desirable?

What really makes the Rolls Royce Phantom a desirable sedan is the fact that it offers drivers ample space and luxury in addition to the feel of a sports car. The 6.75-liter V12 and 453 horsepower engine is impressive, and faster than many of the lower-end sports cars available today.

In addition, the Phantom comes with a number of available options that other luxury sedans simply do not. For example, driving a Phantom means drivers will get monogrammed inlay door cappings, a back seat picnic table, personalized initials monogrammed in the headrests, individual drink cabinets for each seat and even a personalized cooling area for beverages.

While the average family will see more minivans in the parent pick up line at school than Phantoms, Rolls Royce simply has more to offer drivers in terms of family functionality and luxury than any other car on the market.
