When it comes to vodka, all I care about is whether or not it mixes well with my Fresca (have you tried the peach during the spring? It is beyond refreshing) so that I can feel as if I’m cocktailing without gaining too much weight. Of course, I’m not a vodka connoisseur or anything, so all I know is that Grey Goose is what fills our freezer and nothing else matters. I’m simple, but many people know that vodka brands that are not so well-known at the moment are taking over the world with a vengeance, and it’s worth checking them out. There’s more to your cocktail than just the overall goodness you feel drinking it. There’s so much more that goes into making it, the smoothness, and the taste. That’s why these five brands are killing it in 2016. Check them out; your palette won’t be angry.
Deep Eddy Vodka
Recently purchased by Heaven Hills Brand, this is a new and improved version of something you might not have known much about before. The new brand is destined to become a best-selling domestic as far as the company is concerned. Their plans are to add new flavors each year. With a new owner and a new vision, it’s growing quickly.
Golovkine Vokda
If you loved a wheat-based vodka, this is the one for you. It’s been called a rival for both Belvedere and Grey Goose, and many find its upscale flavor preferable to anything else. The brand is a very new one, which is causing quite the controversy for those who have been around the block a time or two in the vodka world, but this one is just as good as the experts have mentioned regularly this year.
Crystal Head
We know you’ve heard of it, but we cannot help but mention it. This Canadian brand has only been around for a few years, and it really only came to fruition about a decade ago when people began to realize that it’s good. Now it is known for having great taste. People also love it because the bottle it comes in is very elegant, causing it to provide a nice touch to homes and bars. It’s one of the best-selling brands of the year last year, which came as a big surprise, and that’s why we’re watching it this year. It’s not a stretch of the imagination to assume “one of” could turn into “the” before the year is through.
Reyka
I’ve never heard of it, but apparently it’s made a hit as one of the best sellers in the past year. The brand is working hard to make it to the top, and it might not be a big issue to get there. It is loved for being a very great concept. It’s from Iceland, uses lava rocks as filters and has some of the most amazing springs waters in the country. Furthermore, the packaging is perfection.
Absolut Elyx
Believe it or not, Absolut is not a brand that’s been doing well the past few years. Back in the 2014/2015 years, the brand declined heavily in sales in the US. The reason is unknown, but Absolut wasn’t about to give up its reign as one of the most well-known and beloved vodka brands in the country. They made some major changes, and began focusing only on a very high-quality vodka that they expect to change the face of drinking for the company this year.
