Get a Load of Nick Cannon’s $2MM Tom Ford Shoes

Nick Cannon is going through a rough time in his life right now. He’s six year marriage to Mariah Carey, with whom he parents two adorable twins, is falling apart and he’s living on his own. His family is being thrust into a spotlight they don’t love, and he’s allowed to spend a few of his hard-earned dollars on some new shoes. In fact, that’s what most people do when they’re feeling down or making some life changes; they go shopping and pick out something that makes them feel good.

What Nick Cannon chose is a pair of $2 million diamond shoes from Tom Ford. He’s sporting them on the season finale of America’s Got Talent, the show he hosts on television. These custom Tom Ford kicks are created by designer Jason Arasheben for the line. They’re made completely of diamonds. Guinness Book of World Records is currently reviewing the shoes to determine whether or not they are the most valuable pair of shoes in the world, but speculation is that they certainly are the most valuable pair in existence.

The shoes feature more than 14,000 white diamonds in a circular cut, for a total of more than 340 carats. The time it took Tom Ford’s team of designers to create these shoes was close to 2,000 hours of actual labor and more than a year of work. The company destroyed 7 pair of high-end patent leather shoes from the Ford collection in an attempt to create a pair that is sturdy and flexible enough to withstand the force of so many diamonds. This might actually make these shoes even more valuable when you consider just how much an average pair of Tom Ford dress shoes cost for men.

The shoes are gorgeous, but they’re far from practical in everyday life. No one wants to sport $2 million on their feet, especially when it might mean losing a diamond worth so much when you trip in a parking lot.
