The Five Most Impressive Features Aboard the Harmony of the Seas

harmony of the seas

Two years and $1 billion later, the Harmony of the Seas, Royal Caribbean’s newest and most luxurious cruise ship, has finally set sail on its maiden voyage May 15th from England and docked on the 17th in Southampton. This ship is special not only in that it’s Royal Caribbean’s biggest to date, but in the fact that it’s also the biggest passenger cruise ship in the world – ever. It’s nearly 1,188 feet long and resembles a floating city rather than a ship, and the more than 6,700 passengers aboard the ship happily attest to the fact that it is the most spectacular ship to ever set sail. This ship has it all, from a 10,000-plant garden in the center of the ship to 23 pools, there’s nothing it does not offer guests. However, a few of the features aboard this billion-dollar ship are still more impressive than the rest.

harmony windowless rooms

Virtual Balcony

Complete with a high-definition screen that allows you to view the real ocean from beyond your room, interior staterooms become outdoor staterooms. With this amazing technology, your interior room becomes a virtual exterior balcony stateroom as you can view the balcony and real ocean virtually along your wall. It’s one of the most innovative technologies on the open water today, bringing the outside in for all to see aboard this magnificent ship.

harmony water slide

10-story Water Slide

When it comes to fun facts, it’s imperative to mention the fact that the Harmony of the Seas is home to the world’s largest cruise ship water slide. It stands 10-stories tall and features a 100-foot drop. It begins on deck 16 and sends adventurous passengers sailing down to deck 6 in a matter of just seconds.

harmony bionic bar

Bionic Bar

It’s not new to Royal Caribbean, but it is not something that any other cruise ship has. The Harmony of the Seas features the biggest Bionic Bar of all the cruise ships, and it’s staffed with two robot bartenders that shake, stir and pour cocktails all day long for those who wish to enjoy a plethora of libations perfect for vacation.

harmony of the seas park

Central Park

There is nothing like being aboard a cruise ship where the only nature you have is the blue sky and the blue water. Some cruise passengers not only need, but want, to have a park where there are fresh flowers, fresh plants and a feeling of everything that nature has to offer. That’s why the new Harmony of the Seas has Central Park, which features more than 10,000 plants and pieces of nature for all to enjoy.

harmony internet

VOOM

Sometimes the best things on board a ship are technical, and you cannot see them. It’s fairly common knowledge that internet access aboard a cruise ship is anything but good, but this ship features VOOM, which is the fastest internet on any boat in the world. You’ll be able to stay in touch with everyone back home and never miss anything that happens via social media while you’re away from your own internet access.
