The Most Expensive Drinks in the World

For whatever reason, I’m on a food and drink kick today. So since I wrote about the most expensive dishes in the world for today, I figured it’d only be right to give you the most expensive drinks that a person can find. Shaken or stirred, these are the ones that will instantly run-up your bar tab.

5. Bombay Sapphire, Revelation – $200K

Inspired by the original Bombay Sapphire that most bars have on their shelves, Bombay Sapphire, Revelation collaborated with luxury brands Garrard and Baccarat to create a crystal bottled piece of art. Cut into a gemstone, the bottle is what creates the attention, but the taste itself is what makes this drink so impeccable. And for those who don’t want to spend $200,000, just know that all the sales from the booze goes to The Smile Train, which is a nonprofit for children in poor countries.

4. Pasion Azteca & Platinum Liquore Bottle by Tequila Ley.925 – $225K

With a bottle that was engraved by Mexican artist Alejandro Gomez Oropeza, the limited edition container resembles that of a barbed sea shell and then filled with Pasion Azteca tequila, aged for six years. The only bottle ever distilled, it was sold to a private collector in 2006 for $225,000.

3. Lalique, Cire Perdue – $460,000

Marking the 150th anniversary of the birth of Rene Latique—the founder of the world’s lost wax art—Lalique produced this  decanter that was auctioned off in 2010 for an astonishing $460,000. The whisky might not be worth that much, but the bottle itself garnered such a price tag, with all the proceeds also going to charity.

2. Diva Vodka – $3,700 – $1 million

That might be quite the price range for a bottle of premier vodka, but that’s the company that Diva has found itself in. Ice and san-filtered using the Nordic birch purification process, each bottle contains a removable glass tube column filled with 48 gems and crystals running down the core as a decorative piece. Each bottle can actually be traced back to the buyer, as the individual hand picks their stones themselves, making each bottle one-of-a-kind with varying price tags.

1. Henri IV Dudognon Heritage Cognac Grande Champagne – $2 million

Dubbed the “DNA of Cognac,” this champagne probably isn’t used to celebrate something small—especially given its $2 million price. With a crystal-dipped, 24k yellow gold and platinum bottle, it also includes 6.500 diamonds to really make it pop. Aged in barrels for more than 100 years, this champagne will be like heaven upon hitting your lips—just remember to keep the bottle once you finish it.
