Three Expensive Items Destroyed by the Wealthy

Being wealthy makes it far easier to afford life’s little – and largest – luxuries, but does it also make people careless when it comes to caring for their expensive splurges? When an average person saves up enough to afford a luxury item, such as an expensive sports car, he or she is more likely to care for it by washing it regularly, parking far from other drivers and forbidding food in the car. Celebrities and other wealth people, however, don’t seem to have the same level of care as everyone else. Read on to find out which celebrities destroyed some very expensive items.

A Picasso

Steven Wynn is the CEO of Wynn Resorts, some of the most luxurious hotels in the world. At one point, he owned a painting by Pablo Picasso, the Le Reve. After agreeing to sell the painting to another buyer at a staggering price of $139 million, the hotel mogul accidently fell right into the canvas, sending his elbow right through the painting. The damage was estimated at approximately $40 million.

Lamborghini Gallardo

When someone spends $210,000 on a vehicle, they expect it to last a while. That’s precisely why a Chinese millionaire by the name of Mr. Han became angry when his brand new Lamborghini Gallardo broke down on several occasions. When him patience wore too thin, he paid 9 of his personal workers to beat the car with sledgehammers.

A Yacht

A Russian man by the name of Roman Abramovich owns the Chelsea Football Club. He also owns an impressive multi-million dollar yacht. However, he apparently didn’t pay much attention to the instructions on his yacht back in 2005 when he spent $165,000 in gas for the $100 million yacht. Instead of filling the diesel tank with diesel, Abramovich filled the tank with petrol. To prevent further destruction to his yacht, he also had to pay to have the fuel tank cleaned, which is another several thousand dollar process.
