Gold-Plated Model Of James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 Will be Auctioned

If you dream of driving an Aston Martin DB5, you’re a James Bond fan. The creators of the franchise, Eon Productions, have decided to commission a representation of the iconic vehicle to auction to the highest bidder. The scale of the model is one third the original size, and it’s absolutely perfectly constructed. There are several working gadgets controlled by remote, and the vehicle gives credit where it’s due to “Goldfinger,” as it’s gold plated.

Propshop is responsible for building the model. They built each of the scale models of the vehicles in the “Skyfall” movie, and therefore were commissioned to make this one as well. The online charity auction at which the vehicle will be available is to benefit the NSPCC, and it’s being held by the famous Christie’s auction house.

Monday marked the start of the bidding for this iconic vehicle, and it’s going to be on the auction block through September 17 when the highest bidder will take home the vehicle. Additionally, the 17th also marks 50 years since the movie “Goldfinger” premiered. It’s not the only Bond-themed item for sale in the auction, and it’s expected to bring in a large sum. The vehicle is expected to sell for as much as $100,000 and no less than $66,000.

If the Aston Martin isn’t what you’re looking for, there are other Bond items for sale at the auction. You can bid on an 18k yellow gold Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra watch, as well. The custom made piece was from the “Goldfinger” movie. This particular item is a much more affordable item, expected to sell anywhere from $13,000 to $20,000. It’s got some seriously unique features so that the wearer or collector will really have a good time showing it off to his friends and family members, or wearing it around for a bit of a Bond feeling.
