One of the most prestigious Italian awards in Italy, the Compasso d’Oro, takes a full three years to consider. The award ceremony happens every 3rd year, after researchers, journalists, designers and historians decide which of the Italian brands and products of that time frame are the most exemplary, most iconic and most influential. This year, Ferrari was awarded the Compasso d’Oro award for its F12berlinetta. This is most prestigious and historic award in design in all of Italy.

Ferrari’s F12 Berlinetta was awarded the Compasso d’Oro in recognition of its flawless design. It is the most powerful Ferrari to date – made for the road, that is. Its dynamic form and flowing design partner with innovative technology and aerodynamics to make it one of the fastest, most powerful, most aesthetically pleasing vehicles ever designed. It is recognized for being the perfect combination of beauty and power; elegance and sophistication.

The Compasso d’Oro is only awarded to 20 different products that show innovative design and showmanship. The award was last given to Ferrari on 2001, when it was bestowed upon the company’s chairman, Luca di Montezemolo, in recognition of Ferrari’s industrial and engineering capabilities. During the 2001 ceremony, Ferrari received accolades for its impressive technological research and its ability to create vehicles that are so aesthetically pleasing.

Ferrari has long been considered at the top of the luxury vehicle market. Its impressive designs, technological advancements and innovative creations create more than just an expensive status symbol. Many might view the Ferrari as a vehicle designed for those with the deepest of pockets, but it is actually a collection of masterpieces designed for those who truly appreciate the kind of mind power that goes into each little piece.

This might only be the second Compasso d’Oro Ferrari has received in the past five award ceremonies, but it is unlikely to be its last.
