$800K Caravisio Caravan Features iPad-Controlled Lighting and its Own Movie Theater

The All-New Carivisio Caravan

Part luxury yacht, part personal cinema, and part technological motorhome marvel, the Caravisio Caravan is “the caravan of the future.” Produced by German caravan manufacturer Knaus Tabbert Group, the all-new caravan was unveiled last month at the Motorhome and Caravan Show in Birmingham, England in an attempt to rethink standard camper design and battle declining caravan sales in Europe. A two year collaboration between more than 20 different European companies and industry experts, the concept Caravisio Caravan draws upon yacht-like elements and represents what the possible future of luxury camping might one day look like. With a superior aerodynamic trailer design that looks nothing like the traditional campers and caravans of today, the Caravisio Caravan–which can be towed by any capable car, truck, or SUV–features a pointed front-end, due to the unique V-shaped bed design inside, as well as side skirts, C pillars, and a rear spoiler. With the help of a mattress extension, the two single beds can easily turn into a single V-shaped king-size double bed located in the caravan’s cozy master bedroom, which features a panoramic window. The spacious bathroom even features an intelligent water management system able to be controlled from a touchscreen display.

Other features include a yacht-like fold-out deck, a remote controlled deck roof, dual electric bicycles (charged by an integrated induction charging system), a spacious living area that can quickly be rearranged into a functional work station with ergonomic seating and electrical hookups, a wine cooler, a finger scanning lock, and a smartphone/tablet application that controls all of the Caravisio Caravan’s interior and exterior equipment and settings. The mobile application allows the caravan’s user to adjust the interior lighting, heat and air conditioning, sound and entertainment volumes, the trailer’s air suspension and ground level for loading and unloading, and even the frosted effect able to be created on the rear doors for complete and utter privacy. A ceiling-mounted projector also transforms the rear doors into a projection screen that creates a mirroring feature, allowing fellow campers and guests to view the entertainment from outside of the trailer as well. The fiberglass caravan, which is 29.5 feet long and 8.2 feet wide, cost more than $141,500 to design and is currently only a prototype. However, the Caravisio Caravan could quite possibly go up for sale in as little as two years for an estimated hefty price of $800,000.
