One of the biggest selling points of any home is the bathroom. Buyers want bathrooms with high-end upgrades, luxurious appeal and plenty of space. While the average homeowner looks for things such as marble flooring and granite countertops, celebrities look for something a little bit more elaborate. Believe it or not, some celebrities take their bathrooms to a whole new level with purchases and additions so extravagant they cost more than most people’s entire home.
Beyonce and Jay-Z
Being the king and queen of hip-hop means they have quite a bit of money to their names, but what they choose to spend their money on is often outrageous. Known for dropping serious cash on things like vacations, houses and jewelry, Jay-Z and Beyonce are also big on spending cash on their little girl, Blue Ivy. It’s been reported that the duo actually has a $5,200 baby bathtub in Blue Ivy’s nursery. The tub is decked out in pink Swarovski crystals, making it unlike any other tub in any other child’s bathroom.
Tamara Ecclestone
She’s the daughter of F1’s Bernie Ecclestone, which makes her a racing heiress. Being an heiress means she gets to make purchases far more extravagant than others. In fact, Ecclestone’s bathroom comes complete with a custom-made bathtub that cost her an impressive $1.5 million. The tub itself is carved from a giant piece of pure Amazon rock crystal. The rock itself cost her $800,000 and the remaining $700,000 went into carving the tub and reinforcing the floors in her extravagant home to hold the tub so she can bathe in style.
Donald Trump
You can’t talk about extravagant purchases without mentioning the Donald. After finalizing a deal to purchase a 757 from Paul Allen, the co-founder of Microsoft, the Donald immediately began renovating the plane’s restroom, because just any old airplane bathroom wouldn’t do. The businessman had the bathroom renovated with solid gold faucets and accessories, making it the most expensive place to wash your hands imaginable.
