The iPhone 6 May Be Apple’s Most Expensive Phone Ever

Apple To Report Quarterly Earnings

When Apple released its first iPhone in 2007, the original retail price was $599 for the 8gb model and $499 for the 4gb model. Since then, Apple has been consistently set their asking prices for the latest iPhone models at $199 for users purchasing the phone with a new contract ;however, all of that may chance with the release of the newest member of Apple’s iPhone family.

The iPhone 6, which will hopefully  be available for purchase later this year has been the topic of conversation for the last several months.  While there have been many rumors surrounding the phone, the latest comes from recent reports which say that the iPhone 6 will be the most expensive model yet.  Some analysts believe that Apple will be forced to raise the phone’s price and according to analyst Peter Misek, Apple has already been negotiating with carriers to raise the phone’s contract price by $100, meaning that the new iPhone would cost $300 for those looking to purchase the phone with a new contract.  There has also been speculation that the phone’s price out of contract could be as much as $800.

Even with a potential price raise, most people believe that the Apple will still have no trouble selling the device, especially because Apple has created an electronic eco system and users seem to be very dedicated to the company’s products. The iPhone 6 will most likely be packed with completely new features, along with a more dynamic design – allowing for a larger display.  While Apple is always very secretive about its unreleased devices some spectators have said that the new phone will likely have a 5.5 which features sapphire coverings which will cut down on the number of cracked screens.  The phone will more than likely include an upgraded A8 processor with frequencies as high as 2.0. Many iPhone users hope that the addition of 6th generation iPhone will include some of the features that Apple competitors have already begun introducing.

Apple has officially announced that they will hold a press event on September 6, making it a very strong possibility that they will use this time to debut the iPhone 6.
