Sylvester Stallone Net Worth

Sylvester Stallone is an American actor, screenwriter, and film director with an estimated net worth of $275 million. Stallone is known for his action roles particularly in the films Rocky and Rambo.

Michael Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone was born on July 6, 1946 in New York, New York. He is the eldest son of Frank, a hairdresser and beautician, and Jacqueline, an astrologer, former dancer, and promoter of professional wrestling. His younger brother is actor and musician Frank Stallone. Complications from his birth and the misuse of forceps severed a nerve which left much of Stallone’s lower part of his face paralyzed. This was the cause of Stallone’s now famous snarled look and slurred speed.

Stallone had his first starring role in the softcore pornographic film The Party at Kitty and Stud’s in 1970. The film was later released as The Italian Stallion a name he took on. Stallone’s first mainstream acting job came in 1970 in the film No Place to Hide, which was recut as Rebel. Stallone would go on to act in several more films in small supporting roles, none of which made a name for himself.

In 1976, Stallone was cast as Rocky Balboa in the hit film Rocky. Stallone wrote the film himself and insisted he play the lead role while pitching the script. In the end, the film was nominated for ten Academy Awards, winning the award for Best Picture.

Stallone would go on to star in roles after Rocky set his career on the right path. His next big role came in the film Rambo: First Blood in 1982. It would be followed by two successful sequels. In sum, Stallone has been in over 50 films spanning over 40 years. His movies have generated hundreds of millions of dollars at the box office throughout the years. He has had some successes in other films, but nothing will come close to the success he had with Rocky and Rambo.

Stallone has also directed films. He directed the film Staying Alive, a sequel to Saturday Night Fever. He has also directed the last four Rocky movies and Rambo. In August of 2005, Stallone released a book called Sly Moves, which claimed to be a guide to fitness and nutrition as well as an insight into his life and work. The book did no receive critical acclaim.

Stallone’s career is a comprehensive success of writing, directing, and acting. His net worth is built on the foundation of the Rocky franchise, but he also wrote movies like Over the Top and Cliffhanger, which did very well at the box office. Stallone does not have much activity outside film, he received a small sum of money for promoting B & W tobacco in 1983 ($500,000), but never really fill an endorsement portfolio that earned him a lot of money.

Stallone continues to act and take on writing and directing projects, but his immense net worth will always be supported by his “baby” Rocky. It’ll be interesting to see Stallone’s career going forward and how his net worth changes.
